Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh social self-efficacy terhadap homesickness pada mahasiswa rantau. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei terhadap 229 mahasiswa rantau yang sedang menempuh pendidikan di luar daerah asalnya. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah Social Efficacy and Outcome Expectations Scale (SEOES) dan Homesickness Questionnaire (HQ) yang telah diadaptasi ke dalam Bahasa Indonesia. Hasil analisis regresi sederhana menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh negatif yang signifikan antara social self-efficacy terhadap homesickness. Artinya, semakin tinggi social self-efficacy mahasiswa, maka semakin rendah tingkat homesickness yang mereka alami. Penelitian ini menunjukkan pentingnya penguatan kemampuan sosial dalam mendukung proses adaptasi mahasiswa rantau, serta menjadi acuan untuk pengembangan program intervensi psikologis yang lebih responsif terhadap kebutuhan mereka. ***** This study aims to examine the effect of social self-efficacy on homesickness among migrant students. The research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method involving 229 migrant students pursuing their education outside their hometowns. The instruments used were the Social Efficacy and Outcome Expectations Scale (SEOES) and the Homesickness Questionnaire (HQ), both of which had been adapted into Indonesian. The results of a simple linear regression analysis indicated a significant negative effect of social self-efficacy on homesickness. This means that the higher a student's social self-efficacy, the lower the level of homesickness experienced. This study highlights the importance of strengthening social competence to support the adaptation process of migrant students, and serves as a reference for developing psychological intervention programs that are more responsive to their needs.
