Abstract
This study aims to determine whether there is an influence between Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) and difficulties in emotion regulation among emerging adults. This research used a quantitative approach with a survey method. A total of 167 emerging adults aged 18–25 years residing in the Greater Jakarta area participated in the study. The instruments used were the Adverse Childhood Experiences International Questionnaire (ACE-IQ) developed by WHO and the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale – Short Form (DERS-SF) by Gratz & Roemer. Data were analyzed using simple linear regression to examine the influence between the independent and dependent variables. The results of the correlation analysis as an assumption test indicate that there is no significant relationship between ACE and emotional regulation difficulties in early adulthood individuals (p > 0.05) in this case it can be concluded that there is no influence so that Ho is accepted and Ha is rejected.
