Abstract

Work Behavior Toward Organization (CWB-O) maupun Counterproductive Work Behavior Toward In People Organization (CWB-P). ***** This study aims to examine the relationship between Work Engagement and Counterproductive Work Behavior (CWB) among civil servants (ASN) at the Ministry of Transportation. The underlying phenomenon of this research is the employment stability of ASN, which tends to create a sense of job security even when performance is suboptimal. This condition is further exacerbated by the government’s budget efficiency policy implemented since 2025, which has led to limited work facilities and decreased workplace comfort. The research employed a quantitative approach with a sample of 137 ASN participants selected through convenience sampling. The measurement instruments used were the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES) and the Counterproductive Work Behavior Checklist (CWB-C), both of which were adapted to the context of this study. The results show no significant relationship between Work Engagement and either Counterproductive Work Behavior Toward the Organization (CWB-O) or Toward People in the Organization (CWB-P). The significance value for the relationship between Work Engagement and CWB-O was 0.390, and for CWB-P was 0.813.
