Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Predict, Observe, Explain (POE) berbantuan media Miricanvas terhadap keterampilan mengemukakan ulasan siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain Pre-Experimental Design dengan model One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Jakarta dengan sampel penelitian 25 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes, observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Instrumen yang digunakan menggunakan uji tes awal (pretest) dan tes akhir (posttest) dengan teknik analisis data menggunakan uji t. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, sebelum diberikannya perlakuan, mendapatkan rata-rata 65,40, sedangkan setelah diberikan perlakuan menggunakan model pembelajaran Predict, Observe, Explain (POE) berbantuan media Miricanvas rata-rata naik menjadi 73,08. Berdasarkan uji hipotesis atau uji-t hipotesis terbukti diterima, dikarenakan signifikasi atau Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,001 lebih kecil daripada 0,05 (0,001 < 0,05). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dalam penggunaan model pembelajaran Predict, Observe, Explain (POE) berbantuan media Miricanvas terhadap keterampilan berbicara dalam mengemukakan ulasan siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Jakarta. Kata Kunci: Model Pembelajaran Predict, Observe, Explain (POE), Keterampilan Mengemukakan Ulasan, Miricanvas ***** This study aimed to determine the effect of the Predict, Observe, Explain (POE) learning model assisted by Miricanvas media on the review presentation skills of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Jakarta. This study used a quantitative method with a Pre-Experimental Design using the One Group Pretest-Posttest Design model. The population of this study consisted of all eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Jakarta, with a research sample of 25 students. The data collection techniques used were tests, observations, interviews, and documentation. The instruments used were pretests and posttests, with data analysis techniques using a t-test. Based on the research results, before the treatment was given, the average score was 65.40, while after the treatment using the Predict, Observe, Explain (POE) learning model assisted by Miricanvas media, the average score increased to 73.08. Based on the hypothesis test or t-test, the hypothesis was proven to be accepted because the significance or Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.001 was smaller than 0.05 (0.001 < 0.05). The results of this study show that there is a significant effect of using the Predict, Observe, Explain (POE) learning model assisted by Miricanvas media on the speaking skills in presenting reviews of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Jakarta.
