Abstract

Keterlibatan ayah dalam pengasuhan anak pada masa perkembangan toldder penting. Namun, keterlibatan ayah di Indonesia tergolong rendah, salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi keterlibatan ayah adalah ibu. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh maternal gatekeeping terhadap father involvement. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan teknik analisis regresi linear berganda. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 146 responden laki-laki yang memiliki anak berusia 1-3 tahun, dan berstatus menikah/tidak bercerai. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling. Alat ukur yang digunakan untuk variabel maternal gatekeeping adalah maternal gatekeeping scale dan variabel father involvement yaitu inventory of father involvement. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh maternal gatekeeping terhadap keterlibatan ayah (p < 0.001). Hasil analisis secara parsial menunjukkan bahwa dimensi encouragement (p < 0.001) dari maternal gatekeeping yang mempengaruhi keterlibatan ayah, sedangkan dimensi control (0.984 > 0.05) dan discouragement (0.215 > 0.05) tidak berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap keterlibatan ayah. ***** Father's involvement in childcare during the developmental period is important. However, father involvement in Indonesia is low, one of the factors that influence father involvement is the mother. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of maternal gatekeeping on father involvement. This study uses quantitative methods with multiple linear regression analysis techniques. The sample of this study was 146 male respondents who had children aged 1-3 years, and were married / not divorced. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The measuring instrument used for the maternal gatekeeping variable is the maternal gatekeeping scale and the father involvement variable is the inventory of father involvement. The results of this study indicate that there is an effect of maternal gatekeeping on father involvement (p < 0.001). The results of the partial analysis show that the encouragement dimension (p < 0.001) of maternal gatekeeping affects father involvement, while the dimensions of control (0.984 > 0.05) and discouragement (0.215 > 0.05) have no significant effect on father involvement.
