Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar menulis teks deskripsi dengan menggunakan Picture Words Inductive Model (PWIM) berbasis multimedia interaktif yang sesuai dengan karakteristik dan kebutuhan siswa kelas VII SMP. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada rendahnya minat dan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis teks deskripsi serta keterbatasan bahan ajar yang tersedia, terutama yang mengintegrasikan unsur visual dan teknologi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Subjek uji coba adalah siswa kelas VII di salah satu SMP Negeri 9 Kota Bekasi. Instrumen pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, wawancara, angket, dan dokumentasi. Produk bahan ajar divalidasi oleh ahli materi, ahli media, dan guru mata pelajaran, serta diuji coba terbatas pada siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar yang dikembangkan layak digunakan berdasarkan hasil validasi ahli dan respon positif dari guru serta siswa. Bahan ajar ini terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis teks deskripsi siswa karena menyajikan gambar yang relevan. Kata Kunci: Keterampilan Menulis, Teks Deskripsi, PWIM This study aims to develop teaching materials for writing descriptive texts using the Picture Words Inductive Model (PWIM) based on interactive multimedia, tailored to the characteristics and needs of seventh-grade junior high school students. The background of this research is rooted in the low interest and ability of students in writing descriptive texts, as well as the limited availability of teaching materials that integrate visual and technological elements. Therefore, innovative teaching materials are needed—ones that are engaging, easy to understand. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The trial subjects were seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 9 Bekasi. Data collection instruments included observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The developed teaching materials were validated by subject matter experts, media experts, and a subject teacher, and were tested in a limited trial with students. The results showed that the developed teaching materials are feasible for use, based on validation results and positive responses from teachers and students. These materials proved effective in improving students' descriptive writing skills through the use of relevant images and interactive features.
