Abstract
***** This study aims to look at the effect of Adverse Childhood experiences (ACE) on Optimism in Emerging Adulthood in Indonesia. The method used in this study is a quantitative method with a total of 407 respondents who are in the Emerging Adulthood period in Indonesia. The instrument used to measure the level of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) is the World Health Organization Adverse Childhood Experiences International Questionnaire (WHO-ACE-IQ) developed by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2018, while to measure Optimism is measured using the Life Orientation Test-Revised (LOT-R) developed by Scheier, Carver, and Bridges (1994). Hypothesis testing using Pearson correlation showed a significance value of < 0.001 which means a sig value. < 0.05 and correlation coefficient -0.188. This shows that there is a significant negative relationship between Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) and Optimism in Emerging Adulthood in Indonesia, meaning that the higher the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE), the lower the level of Optimism.
