Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji peran locus of control internal dalam memoderasi pengaruh refleksi kognitif terhadap diskonto waktu pada masyarakat miskin di wilayah perkotaan. Refleksi kognitif dihipotesiskan berperan dalam menurunkan kecenderungan individu untuk melakukan diskonto waktu, sementara locus of control diasumsikan memperkuat hubungan tersebut. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode regresi moderasi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa locus of control internal tidak berperan sebagai moderator dalam hubungan antara refleksi kognitif dan diskonto waktu (nilai signifikansi moderasi = 0,969 > 0,05). Meskipun demikian, ditemukan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara diskonto waktu dengan tingkat pendidikan (p = 0,021) dan tingkat pendapatan (p = 0,012) melalui uji chi-square. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa latar belakang sosio-ekonomi memiliki peran penting dalam kecenderungan pengambilan keputusan jangka pendek pada masyarakat miskin di perkotaan. Cognitive reflection was hypothesized to reduce an individual's tendency toward time discounting, while locus of control was expected to strengthen this relationship. A quantitative approach was used, employing moderation regression analysis. The results indicated that internal locus of control did not moderate the relationship between cognitive reflection and time discounting (moderation significance value = 0.969 > 0.05). However, a significant relationship was found between time discounting and education level (p = 0.021) as well as income level (p = 0.012) based on chi-square analysis. These findings suggest that socio-economic background plays an important role in short-term decision-making tendencies among the urban poor.
