Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui ada atau tidaknya pengaruh dari penggunaan media pembelajaran bagan interaktif (Interactive Chart) untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpidato siswa kelas VIII SMPN 21 KOTA BEKASI. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan desain quasi experiment menggunakan pretest-posttest control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMPN 21 KOTA BEKASI . Sedangkan sampel yang digunakan adalah dua kelas yakni kelas 8.8 sebagai kelas kontrol dan kelas 8.9 sebagai kelas eksperimen. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengambil sampel ini adalah purposive sampling. Dari hasil pengolahan data, terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan. Nilai pretest tertinggi dari kelas eksperimen sebesar 85 sedangkan nilai terendah sebesar 69. Nilai posttest tertinggi dari kelas eksperimen sebesar 94 dan nilai terendah sebesar 84. Pada kelas kontrol, nilai tertinggi pretest sebesar 85 sedangkan nilai terendah sebesar 69. Pada pelaksanaan posttest, nilai tertinggi sebesar 85 sedangkan nilai terendah untuk posttestnya sebesar 70. Pada kelas eksperimen, nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh saat dilakukannya pretest yaitu sebesar 80,13. Sedangkan pada posttest sebesar 88,73. Selisih antara nilai rata-rata pretest dan posttest pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 8,6. Dari hasil pemerolehan data, hasil uji t pada taraf signifikan α = 0,05. menunjukan T hitung sebesar 8,19 lebih besar dari T tabel 2,045 sehingga H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Hal ini menunjukan adanya pengaruh yang signifikan dari penggunaan media bagan interaktif (Interactive Chart) untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpidato siswa. This study was conducted with the aim of determining whether or not there is an influence of the use of interactive chart learning media to improve the speaking skills of class VIII students of SMPN 21 KOTA BEKASI. The method used in this study is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design using a pretest-posttest control group design. The population in this study were class VIII students of SMPN 21 KOTA BEKASI. While the samples used were two classes, namely class 8.8 as the control class and class 8.9 as the experimental class. The method used to take this sample was purposive sampling. From the results of data processing, there were significant differences. The highest pretest score from the experimental class was 85 while the lowest score was 69. The highest posttest score from the experimental class was 94 and the lowest score was 84. In the control class, the highest pretest score was 85 while the lowest score was 69. In the posttest, the highest score was 85 while the lowest score for the posttest was 70. In the experimental class, the average score obtained during the pretest was 80.13. While in the posttest it was 88.73. The difference between the average pretest and posttest scores in the experimental class was 8.6. From the results of data acquisition, the results of the t-test at a significant level of α = 0.05. showed that the calculated T was 8.19, smaller than the T table of 2.045, so H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. This shows a significant influence of the use of interactive chart media (Interactive Chart) to improve students' speaking skills. Keywords: Learning media, interactive chart media, speaking skills.
