Abstract

Tujuan dari dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif Think Pair Share dengan pendekatan kontekstual terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Penelitian dilakukan di SMAN 1 Parung pada kelas XI. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian quasi experiment. Sampel diambil dengan cluster random sampling yang dilakukan dengan memilih kelas secara acak yang sebelumnya harus diuji pra syarat terlebih dahulu. Kelas yang terpilih sebagai sampel yaitu kelas XI Saintek 1 dan XI Saintek 2 SMA Negeri 1 Parung. Pada instrumen penelitian terdiri dari 3 soal tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis yang berbentuk uraian. Pada penelitian ini uji hipotesis setelah perlakuan menggunakan uji Mann-Whitney dengan α=0,05 dan diperoleh nilai P_value=0.042 sehingga didapatkan tolak H_0. Berdasarkan hal tersebut maka didapatkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif Think Pair Share dengan pendekatan kontekstual terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa di SMA Negeri 1 Parung. Lalu dilanjutkan untuk menguji besar dari pengaruhnya dengan uji Cliff’s Delta dan didapatkan hasil 0.248 termasuk pada kategori kecil. **** The purpose of this research was to examine Effect of the Think-Pair-Share Cooperative Learning Model with a Contextual Approach on the Mathematical Communication Skills of Students. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Parung involving eleventh-grade students. A quasi-experimental method was used with cluster random sampling after conducting prerequisite tests. The classes selected as samples in this study were XI Saintek 1 and XI Saintek 2 at SMA Negeri 1 Parung. The research instrument consisted of three open-ended questions designed to assess students' mathematical communication ability. After the treatment, hypothesis testing was performed using the Mann-Whitney test with a significance level of α = 0.05, resulting in a nilai P_value=0.042, which led to the rejection of H₀. This result indicates that the Think Pair Share learning model with a contextual approach has a significant impact on students' mathematical communication ability at SMA Negeri 1 Parung. Furthermore, the magnitude of the impact was analyzed using Cliff’s Delta and the value of 0.248, which is categorized as a small effect.
