Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing (BIPA) yang berbasis pendekatan Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT), dengan fokus pada pemelajar berbahasa pertama Korea. Latar belakang penelitian ini berpijak pada realitas pembelajaran BIPA di Jakarta Indonesia Korean School (JIKS) yang masih menghadapi tantangan dalam mengakomodasi perbedaan linguistik dan budaya antara bahasa Indonesia dan bahasa Korea. Buku ajar New The Right Indonesian, meskipun telah disusun khusus untuk pemelajar Korea, belum secara optimal mengintegrasikan aspek interkultural dan refleksi budaya dalam skenario pembelajaran. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan bahan ajar modular berbasis CRT yang kontekstual, adaptif, dan mendukung pembelajaran mandiri. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE yang meliputi tahap Analisis, Desain, Pengembangan, Implementasi, dan Evaluasi. Analisis kebutuhan dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan penyebaran angket kepada siswa dan guru BIPA di JIKS. Prototipe bahan ajar dikembangkan dengan mengadaptasi konten buku New The Right Indonesian Step 1, dilengkapi dengan aktivitas reflektif, ilustrasi budaya kontekstual, dan tugas antarbudaya. Validasi dilakukan oleh ahli materi dan media, sementara uji efektivitas dilakukan melalui uji coba terbatas pada kelompok kecil pemelajar Korea.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar yang dikembangkan memenuhi kriteria kelayakan isi, keterpaduan budaya, visualisasi, dan efektivitas dalam mendukung kompetensi linguistik serta kesadaran antarbudaya pemelajar. Pendekatan CRT terbukti mampu meningkatkan keterlibatan emosional, motivasi belajar, serta pemahaman kontekstual peserta didik. Dengan demikian, produk bahan ajar New The Right Indonesian versi CRT–BIPA–K layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran mandiri berbasis budaya bagi pemelajar BIPA berbahasa ibu Korea. ********************************************************** This study aims to develop Indonesian language learning materials for speakers of other languages (BIPA) based on the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach, with a specific focus on learners whose first language is Korean. The background of this research lies in the challenges faced by BIPA instruction at Jakarta Indonesia Korean School (JIKS), where significant linguistic and cultural differences between Indonesian and Korean are not yet adequately addressed. Although the textbook New The Right Indonesian was specifically designed for Korean learners, it has not fully integrated intercultural and reflective elements into its instructional scenarios. Therefore, this study seeks to develop modular teaching materials grounded in CRT principles that are contextual, adaptive, and support independent learning. The research adopts the ADDIE model, which consists of the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Needs analysis was conducted through interviews, observations, and questionnaires administered to BIPA teachers and students at JIKS. The prototype materials were developed by adapting content from New The Right Indonesian Step 1, enriched with reflective activities, contextual cultural illustrations, and intercultural tasks. Validation was carried out by content and media experts, while effectiveness was tested through limited trials involving a small group of Korean BIPA learners. The results demonstrate that the developed materials meet criteria for content feasibility, cultural integration, visual appeal, and effectiveness in supporting both linguistic competence and intercultural awareness. The CRT approach proved to enhance learner engagement, motivation, and contextual understanding. Consequently, the New The Right Indonesian – CRT–BIPA–K version is deemed suitable as a culturally responsive self-instructional resource for Korean-speaking BIPA learners.
