Abstract

Membaca merupakan keterampilan penting dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia, khususnya dalam memahami isi bacaan secara interpretatif. Namun, masih banyak siswa yang mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami makna teks secara mendalam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman interpretatif siswa kelas V SDN Srengseng Sawah 11 melalui metode Sustained Silent Reading (SSR). Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam tiga siklus dengan fokus indikator yang berbeda di setiap siklus. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan ketuntasan belajar dari 75% pada siklus I, menjadi 84% pada siklus II, dan mencapai 94% pada siklus III. Dengan demikian, penerapan metode SSR terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman interpretatif siswa. ***** Reading is an important skill in learning Indonesian, especially in interpretive comprehension of reading content. However, many students still experience difficulty in deeply understanding the meaning of texts. This study aims to improve interpretive reading comprehension skills of fifth-grade students at SDN Srengseng Sawah 11 through the Sustained Silent Reading (SSR) method. The study was conducted in three cycles, focusing on different indicators in each cycle. The results showed an increase in learning completion from 75% in Cycle I, to 84% in Cycle II, and reaching 94% in Cycle III. Thus, the application of the SSR method has proven effective in improving students' interpretive reading comprehension skills.
