Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Predict, Obsserve and Explain (POE) pada kelas III-A SDN Tebet Timur 15 Pagi dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 32 siswa. Penelitian dilakukan dalam rentang waktu Maret-Mei 2025 pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2024/2025. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang mengadaptasi model Kemmis dan Mc Taggart dan dilakukan dalam tiga siklus dimana setiap siklus terdiri atas empat tahap yaitu perencanaan, tindakan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Kemampuan berpikir kritis yang diharapkan harus mencapai kriteria keberhasilan sebesar ≥76 dengan kritis siswa target ketuntasan sebesar 80% dari jumlah seluruh siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ditemukan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis setelah diterapkan model pembelajaran Predict, Obsserve and Explain (POE) yang ditandai dengan meningkatnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada tiga siklus. Presentase kemampuan berpikir kritis pada siklus I sebesar 56,2% kemudian mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan pada siklus II dengan skor presentase sebesar 72% dengan kata lain mengalami peningkatan sebesar 15,8%. Pada siklus III, kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kembali meningkat dengan presentase sebesar 84% dengan kata lain mengalami peningkatan kembali sebesar 12% dari siklus II. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan jika model pembelajaran Predict, Obsserve and Explain (POE) diterapkan, maka dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir. **** This research aims to enhance students' critical thinking skills through the implementation of the Predict, Observe and Explain (POE) learning model in class III-A of SDN Tebet Timur 15 Pagi with a total of 32 students. The research was conducted from March to May 2025 during the second semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. The research method used in this study is Classroom Action Research which adapts the Kemmis and McTaggart model and is conducted in three cycles, where each cycle consists of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The expected critical thinking skills should meet the success criteria of ≥76 with a completion target of 80% of all students. The results of the study indicate that there was an improvement in critical thinking skills after the application of the Predict, Observe and Explain (POE) learning model, indicated by an increase in students' critical thinking skills across the three cycles. The percentage of critical thinking skills in cycle I was 56.2%, then there was a significant increase in cycle II with a percentage score of 72%, meaning an increase of 15.8%. In cycle III, students' critical thinking skills again increased with a percentage of 84%, which means an additional increase of 12% from cycle II. Thus, it can be concluded that if the Predict, Observe and Explain (POE) learning model is applied, it can enhance students' critical thinking skills.
