Abstract
Kata Kunci: model CORE, mind mapping, kemampuan koneksi matematis ***** This study was conducted with the aim to determine the effect of the CORE (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending) learning model on students' mathematical connection skills. This research method uses a quasi-experiment with the research design being a post-test only control group design. The sample in this study consisted of two VIII classes at SMP Negeri 166 Jakarta, which were selected through Cluster Random Sampling technique. The selected classes are VIII D and VIII B. The instruments used to measure mathematical connection skills are 6 description questions on statistics material that have been tested for validity and reliability. Based on the test scores given, the average obtained by the experimental class was 80.11 with a standard deviation of 11.607 and the control class average was 70.4 with a standard deviation of 13.016. Hypothesis testing was carried out using the t-test with the results of t_hitung = 3.3201 greater than t_table = 1.6672 so that H_0 was rejected. The significant difference found supports the conclusion that the CORE model with the mind mapping technique has an effect on students’ mathematical connection skills. The magnitude of the effect was measured by the Cohen Effect Size test and obtained a value of Cohen's d = 0.788, which is included in the medium category with a percentage effect of 76%. Keywords: CORE learning model, mind mapping, mathematical connection skills
