Abstract
This study aims to find out the coping strategies used by junior high school students who are victims of cyberbullying in DKI Jakarta. The research uses a quantitative approach with survey methods and descriptive analysis. The instrument used is the European Cyberbullying Intervention Project Questionnaire (ECIPQ) to identify victims of cyberbullying. A sample of 267 students was taken by incidental sampling technique using the ECIPQ instrument. Based on the results of identification using ECIPQ, the results showed that there were 267 victims out of 293 respondents who were victims of cyberbullying. Then, to measure the coping strategies used, the researcher used the Cyberbullying Coping Questionnaire (CCQ) instrument to measure four types of coping strategies: mental, passive, social, and confrontational. The most widely used strategies were passive (55%) and mental (36%) coping, while social (8%) and confrontational (1%) coping were the most widely used. This finding shows the tendency of students not to involve others and still remain silent in dealing with bullying This study has implications for the importance of counselor intervention in developing classical and group guidance services with the theme of problem solving skills, emotional regulation and assertive training as well as group and individual counseling services for students who are indicated to be victims of cyberbullying
