Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh model pembelajaran Science, Environment, Technology, and Society (SETS) terhadap sikap peduli lingkungan siswa kelas 5 Sekolah Dasar (SD). Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen kuasi (Quasi-Experimental) melalui Posttest-Only Control Design. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok eksperimen yang menggunakan model SETS dan kelompok kontrol dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa kuesioner sikap peduli lingkungan dengan skala Likert. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji-t, hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya pengaruh positif dan signifikan model SETS terhadap sikap peduli lingkungan siswa dengan t-hitung > t-tabel = 5,213 > 2,014, dengan skor rata-rata posttest kelompok eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok control, yang berarti H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Peningkatan ini didukung oleh sintaks SETS (invitasi, eksplorasi, penjelasan dan solusi, mengambil tindakan, dan refleksi) yang mendorong kesadaran, empati, dan tindakan nyata siswa terhadap isu lingkungan. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa model SETS efektif untuk menumbuhkan sikap peduli lingkungan pada siswa SD dan direkomendasikan untuk diterapkan dalam pembelajara Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (IPA). ***** This study aims to analyze the influence of the Science, Environment, Technology, and Society (SETS) learning model on environmental care attitudes of 5th grade elementary school students. The study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design through a Posttest-Only Control Design. The study sample consisted of two groups: an experimental group using the SETS model and a control group using conventional learning. The data collection instrument was an environmental care attitude questionnaire with a Likert scale. Data were analyzed using a t-test. The results showed a positive and significant effect of the SETS model on students' environmental awareness, with a calculated t-value > t-table value of 5.213 > 2.014. The average posttest score for the experimental group was higher than that of the control group, indicating that H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. This improvement was supported by the SETS syntax (invitation, exploration, explanation and solution, taking action, and reflection), which encourages students' awareness, empathy, and concrete action on environmental issues. This study demonstrates that the SETS model is effective in fostering environmental awareness in elementary school students and is recommended for implementation in science learning.
