Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kolaboratif dengan teknik brainwriting. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 31 orang siswa kelas VI SDN Cililitan 03 Pagi Tahun Pelajaran 2024/2025. Latar belakang dari penelitian ini yaitu didasarkan pada rendahnya keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa, yang ditandai dengan ketidaktahuan siswa terhadap teks eksplanasi dan strukturnya, siswa kesulitan menentukan dan menuangkan ide, pemilihan kata yang kurang tepat, serta hasil menulis teks eksplansi siswa yang masih rendah. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus menggunakan model Kemmis dan McTaggart yang terdiri dari tiga pertemuan pada setiap siklusnya. Tahapan dalam penelitian tindakan kelas ini yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi aktivitas guru dan siswa serta hasil tes menulis teks eksplanasi siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kolaboratif teknik brainwriting dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa. Hal ini terlihat dari adanya peningkatan persentase nilai menulis siswa, yang semula pada siklus I 74,62% meningkat menjadi 88,82% pada siklus II. Aktivitas siswa dan guru dalam pembelajaran juga mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran kolaboratif teknik brainwriting efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa sekolah dasar. ***** This research is classroom action research aimed at improving students' explanatory text writing skills through the implementation of a collaborative learning model using the brainwriting technique. The subjects of this study were 31 sixth-grade students of SDN Cililitan 03 Pagi in the 2024/2025 academic year. The background of this research is based on the low ability of students in writing explanatory texts, which is indicated by their lack of knowledge about explanatory texts and their structure, difficulty in generating and expressing ideas, inappropriate word choices, and generally low writing outcomes. This classroom action research was carried out in two cycles using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, consisting of three meetings in each cycle. The stages of this research included planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observations of teacher and student activities and through students’ explanatory text writing test results. The results of this study showed that the application of the collaborative learning model with the brainwriting technique could improve students’ explanatory text writing skills. This was evident from the increase in the percentage of students’ writing scores, which rose from 74.62% in the first cycle to 88.82% in the second cycle. The activities of both students and teachers in the learning process also showed significant improvement. Thus, it can be concluded that the collaborative learning model with the brainwriting technique is effective in enhancing elementary school students’ skills in writing explanatory texts.
