Abstract
Pembelajaran bahasa Mandarin di SMA Negeri 64 Jakarta merupakan mata pelajaran pilihan bagi siswa kelas XI di empat kelas (XI-A, XI-C, XI-D, dan XI-E). Observasi awal menunjukkan adanya variasi motivasi belajar di antara siswa, mulai dari antusiasme tinggi hingga kurang berminat. Fenomena ini mendorong peneliti untuk mendeskripsikan faktor-faktor yang memotivasi siswa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran bahasa Mandarin. Penelitian ini berfokus pada faktor internal (minat dan bakat, serta kebutuhan dan tujuan) dan faktor eksternal (lingkungan keluarga, serta fasilitas dan sumber belajar). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif-kualitatif dengan metode survei. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner daring (Google Form) yang disebarkan kepada 134 responden siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 64 Jakarta yang mengikuti mata pelajaran bahasa Mandarin. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara umum, motivasi belajar siswa berada pada kategori tinggi, dengan mayoritas responden menyatakan “Setuju” (51.45%) dan “Sangat Setuju” (31.15%). Faktor internal, terutama minat dan bakat (ketertarikan, perasaan, perhatian, partisipasi, keinginan atau kesadaran) serta kebutuhan akan penghargaan, menjadi pendorong motivasi yang sangat kuat. Meskipun demikian, pada indikator kebutuhan aktualisasi diri, terdapat variasi tanggapan yang menunjukkan belum semua siswa memiliki rencana jangka panjang yang jelas terkait studi atau karir di bidang bahasa Mandarin. Dari faktor eksternal, pola asuh orang tua yang mendukung kemandirian dan kegigihan memberikan kontribusi positif yang sangat tinggi. Dukungan dan perhatian orang tua juga tergolong baik. Selain itu, ketersediaan fasilitas belajar yang memadai dan pemanfaatan teknologi pembelajaran yang interaktif (seperti permainan dan media digital) sangat efektif dalam meningkatkan semangat belajar siswa. Akses terhdap sumber belajar digital juga dinilai sangat membantu motivasi belajar mandiri. Initial observations indicated variations in learning motivation among students, ranging from high enthusiasm to low interest. This phenomenon prompted the researcher to describe the factors that motivate students in Mandarin language learning activities. This research focuses on internal factors (interests and talents, as well as needs and goals) and external factors (family environment, as well as facilities and learning resources). This research is a descriptive-qualitative study using a survey method. Research data was collected through an online questionnaire (Google Form) distributed to 134 eleventh-grade students of SMA Negeri 64 Jakarta who took Mandarin language as a subject. The research results show that, in general, students' learning motivation is in the high category, with the majority of respondents stating "Agree" (51.45%) and "Strongly Agree" (31.15%). Internal factors, especially interests and talents (attraction, feelings, attention, participation, desire or awareness) and the need for appreciation, are very strong motivators. Nevertheless, on the self-actualization needs indicator, there were varied responses, indicating that not all students have clear long-term plans related to studies or careers in the field of Mandarin language. From the external factors, parenting styles that support independence and persistence contributed very positively. Parental support and attention were also considered good. Furthermore, the availability of adequate learning facilities and the utilization of interactive learning technology (such as games and digital media) were very effective in increasing students' learning enthusiasm. Access to digital learning resources was also considered very helpful for independent learning motivation.
