Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk, nilai rasa, dan fungsi disfemisme yang terdapat pada komentar warganet dalam ruang digital berkaitan dengan kasus kontroversial yang melibatkan aparat kepolisian. Objek dari penelitian ini adalah komentar warganet. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik pengambilan data dalam penelitian ini ialah teknik simak catat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 108 disfemisme yang digunakan dalam kolom komentar. Mayoritas bentuk disfemisme yang ditemukan berwujud kata. Nilai rasa yang paling banyak ditemukan adalah nilai rasa menguatkan. Fungsi pemakaian disfemisme yang paling banyak ditemukan adalah sebagai penyampaian kritik sosial terhadap kepolisian. Temuan ini menandakan bahwa mayoritas warganet cenderung menggunakan disfemisme dalam kolom komentar sebagai penguatan terhadap kritik yang hendak disampaikan terhadap kinerja kepolisian dalam menangani kasus kematian Brigadir Yosua. Kata Kunci: Disfemisme, Nilai Rasa Disfemisme, Fungsi Disfemisme ***** This research aims to describe the forms, connotative meanings, and functions of dysphemism found in netizen’s comments in digital spaces related to a controversial case involving law enforcement. The object of this study is the comments made by netizens. The research methodology employed is qualitative descriptive. The data collection technique used in this study is note-taking observation. The results indicate that there are 108 dysphemisms used in the comment section. The majority of the dysphemism forms identified are in the form of words. The most frequently found connotative meaning is that of reinforcement. The most common function of dysphemism usage is as a means of conveying social criticism towards the police. These findings suggest that the majority of netizens tend to use dysphemism in the comment section as a way to strengthen the criticism they wish to express regarding the police's handling of the case involving the death of Brigadier Yosua.
