Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar IPA siswa sekolah dasar yang dipengaruhi oleh model pembelajaran yang kurang tepat serta motivasi belajar yang rendah. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh model pembelajaran Learning Cycle 5E terhadap hasil belajar IPA siswa kelas V dengan mempertimbangkan tingkat motivasi belajar. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain treatment by level 2×2. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 80 siswa yang dikelompokkan berdasarkan model pembelajaran (Learning Cycle 5E dan ekspositori) serta tingkat motivasi belajar (tinggi dan rendah). Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes hasil belajar IPA dan angket motivasi belajar. Analisis data dilakukan dengan ANOVA dua jalur dan dilanjutkan dengan uji lanjut Tukey. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) terdapat perbedaan signifikan hasil belajar IPA antara siswa yang diajar menggunakan model Learning Cycle 5E dan ekspositori, di mana skor rata-rata kelompok Learning Cycle 5E sebesar 73,75 lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok ekspositori sebesar 56,75, (2) terdapat interaksi antara model pembelajaran dan motivasi belajar terhadap hasil belajar IPA, (3) siswa dengan motivasi tinggi yang dibelajarkan dengan model Learning Cycle 5E memperoleh hasil belajar paling tinggi dengan rata-rata skor 82, sedangkan yang diajar dengan ekspositori hanya memperoleh 55,5, (4) kelompok siswa dengan motivasi rendah yang diajar menggunakan model Learning Cycle 5E masih menunjukkan hasil belajar yang lebih baik (rata-rata 65,5) dibandingkan kelompok ekspositori dengan motivasi rendah (rata-rata 48), dan (5) model ekspositori cenderung kurang efektif dalam memfasilitasi pemahaman materi IPA yang kompleks, terutama pada siswa dengan motivasi belajar rendah. Dengan demikian, model Learning Cycle 5E terbukti lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA, terutama bagi siswa dengan motivasi belajar tinggi. Kata Kunci: Learning Cycle 5E, motivasi belajar, hasil belajar IPA, pembelajaran berdiferensiasi/This research is motivated by the low science learning outcomes of elementary school students influenced by inappropriate learning models and low learning motivation. To overcome these problems, this study aims to analyze the effect of the Learning Cycle 5E learning model on science learning outcomes of fifth-grade students by considering the level of learning motivation. The method used is a quasi-experimental with a 2x2 treatment by level design. The research sample consisted of 80 students grouped based on the learning model (Learning Cycle 5E and expository) and level of learning motivation (high and low). The instruments used were a science learning outcome test and a learning motivation questionnaire. Data analysis was carried out using two-way ANOVA and continued with Tukey's advanced test. The results of the study showed: (1) there was a significant difference in science learning outcomes between students taught using the Learning Cycle 5E model and expository, where the average score of the Learning Cycle 5E group was 73.75, higher than the expository group at 56.75, (2) there was an interaction between the learning model and learning motivation on science learning outcomes, (3) students with high motivation who were taught using the Learning Cycle 5E model obtained the highest learning outcomes with an average score of 82, while those taught using the expository model only obtained 55.5, (4) the group of students with low motivation who were taught using the Learning Cycle 5E model still showed better learning outcomes (average 65.5) compared to the expository group with low motivation (average 48), and (5) the expository model tended to be less effective in facilitating the understanding of complex science material, especially for students with low learning motivation. Thus, the Learning Cycle 5E model was proven to be more effective in improving science learning outcomes, especially for students with high learning motivation.
