Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan kesiapsiagaan siswa kelas V sekolah dasar dalam menghadapi gempa bumi melalui metode simulasi mitigasi bencana. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan model Kemmis & McTaggart yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, masing-masing terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan observasi, serta refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini sebanyak 30 siswa kelas V SDN Karet 01 Jakarta pada semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2025/2026. Instrumen penelitian meliputi angket kesiapsiagaan dan lembar pemantau tindakan guru dan aktivitas siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya peningkatan kesiapsiagaan siswa setelah penerapan metode simulasi. Skor rata-rata kemampuan kesiapsiagaan siswa pada siklus I mencapai 60% dan meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 96,7%. Selain itu, aktivitas siswa selama proses pembelajaran juga menunjukkan perkembangan positif, dari yang semula pasif menjadi lebih aktif, bekerja sama, dan mampu melaksanakan langkah mitigasi dengan lebih tertib. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode simulasi dapat meningkatkan kemampuan kesiapsiagaan siswa sekolah dasar dalam menghadapi gempa bumi, yang ditunjukkan dengan adanya peningkatan signifikan dari siklus I ke siklus II, sekaligus memberikan pengalaman belajar yang lebih interaktif dan bermakna. ***** This study aims to improve the preparedness skills of grade V elementary school students in dealing with earthquakes through disaster mitigation simulation methods. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach using the Kemmis & McTaggart model, which was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation and observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of this study were 30 fifth-grade students of SDN Karet 01 Jakarta in the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. This research instruments included a preparedness questionnaire and observation sheets for teacher actions and student activities. The results showed an improvement in students’ preparedness skills after the implementation of the simulation method. The average preparedness score in cycle I reached 60% and increased to 96.7% in cycle II. In addition, student activities during the learning process also showed positive development, from being passive to becoming more active, cooperative, and able to carry out mitigation steps in a more orderly manner. Thus, it can be concluded that the simulation method can improve the preparedness skills of elementary school students in facing earthquakes, which is shown by a significant increase from cycle I to cycle II, while providing a more interactive and meaningful learning experience.
