Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan pemahaman konsep pengukuran melalui kegiatan bermain imajinasi berbasis buku cerita di Jatinegara, Jakarta Timur. Penelitian menggunakan model Kemmis dan McTaggart dengan subjek 9 anak usia 5–6 tahun. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi dengan instrumen pedoman observasi. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Penelitian dinyatakan berhasil apabila rata-rata persentase skor dari sembilan anak mencapai minimal 71% sesuai indikator capaian yang ditetapkan. Hasil penelitian yang telah dilaksanakan menunjukan adanya keberhasilan, dengan adanya peningkatan pada pemahaman konsep pengukuran melalui kegiatan bermain imajinasi berbasis buku cerita. Peningkatan pemahaman konsep pengukuran terlihat dari indikator yang meliputi aspek konsep ukuran, penggunaan alat ukur, membandingkan ukuran, dan menyimpulkan hasil pengukuran. Peningkatan pemahaman konsep pengukuran melalui kegiatan bermain imajinasi berbasis buku cerita dalam pelaksanaan pra tindakan dengan persentase dari total rata-rata 54,17%, pada siklus I mendapatkan total rata-rata sebesar 85,19% mengalami peningkatan sebesar 31,02%. Penelitian dilanjutkan ke siklus II karena dikhawatirkan peningkatan pada siklus I bersifat kebetulan dan untuk memperkuat pemahaman anak mengenai alat ukur baku. Pada siklus II terlihat peningkatan dengan persentase rata-rata mencapai 89,58%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa anak telah mencapai pemahaman kemampuan pengukuran pada aspek konsep ukuran, penggunaan alat ukur, perbandingan ukuran, serta penarikan kesimpulan hasil pengukuran. Berdasarkan capaian tersebut, penelitian dinyatakan selesai karena telah memenuhi kriteria keberhasilan yang ditetapkan. Kata kunci : Pemahaman Konsep Pengukuran, Bermain Imajinasi, Buku Cerita ***** This study aims to improve the understanding of measurement concepts through storybook-based imaginative play activities in Jatinegara, East Jakarta. The research employed the Kemmis and McTaggart model with nine children aged 5–6 years as the subjects. Data were collected through observation using an observation guideline instrument. Data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods. The study was considered successful when the average percentage score of the nine children reached a minimum of 71% based on the predetermined achievement indicators. The results of the study demonstrated success, indicated by an improvement in the children’s understanding of measurement concepts through storybook-based imaginative play activities. The increase in measurement concept understanding was reflected in indicators covering the aspects of size concepts, the use of measuring tools, comparing sizes, and drawing conclusions from measurement results. The improvement in measurement concept understanding through imaginative play activities was shown in the pre-action stage with an average percentage of 54.17%, which increased to 85.19% in Cycle I, indicating a rise of 31.02%. The study was continued to Cycle II due to concerns that the improvement in Cycle I might have been coincidental and to further strengthen the children’s understanding of standard measuring tools. In Cycle II, an additional improvement was observed, with the average percentage reaching 89.58%. These findings indicate that the children achieved an understanding of measurement skills in the aspects of size concepts, the use of measuring tools, comparing sizes, and drawing conclusions from measurement results.
