Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan makna dalam puisi die Stadt karya Theodor Woldsen Storm dengan menggunakan pendekatan semiotika Riffaterre melalui metode kualitatif. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah puisi die Stadt karya Theodor Woldsen Storm. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah baris dalam bait yang menunjukkan makna puisi die Stadt. Teknik analisis data menggunakan pendekatan semiotika Riffaterre yang dilakukan dengan lima tahapan yaitu: (1) pembacaan heuristik, (2) pembacaan hermeneutik, (3) mencari ketidaklangsungan ekspresi dalam puisi, (4) menentukan matriks, model, varian-varian, dan (5) menentukan hipogram. Hasil penelitian dari analisis makna puisi die Stadt melalui semiotika Riffaterre adalah sebagai berikut: (1) Pembacaan heuristik menunjukkan bahwa puisi ini menggambarkan sebuah kota kecil di tepi laut yang sepi, tanpa tanda-tanda kehidupan, diselimuti kabut tebal dan suara laut yang monoton, serta menjadi latar bagi kenangan masa muda Storm, dan (2) hasil pembacaan hermeneutik mengungkapkan bahwa kota dalam puisi ini bukan hanya tempat nyata tetapi juga simbol rindu Storm pada Husum, suram dan sepi namun tetap hangat dalam kenangan masa mudanya. (3) Ketidaklangsungan ekspresi berupa pergantian arti yang terdiri dari metafora, personifikasi, dan sinekdoki; penyimpangan arti terdiri dari ambiguitas dan kontradiksi; penciptaan arti berupa Mischform, bentuk campuran antara Kreuzreim dan umarmender Reim, dan Enjambement. (4) Matriks puisi berupa Heimatsehnsucht. Model puisi berupa “Doch hängt mein ganzes Herz an dir”. Varian-varian berupa 3 data yang tersebar di setiap bait puisi. (5) Hipogram potensial disetarakan dengan matriks, yaitu Heimatsehnsucht. Hipogram aktual adalah puisi Oktoberlied. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa makna pada puisi die Stadt mengungkapkan perasaan rindu, kehilangan, dan keterikatan mendalam Storm terhadap kota kelahirannya yang suram namun penuh makna. Kata kunci: Analisis Puisi, Die Stadt, Semiotika Riffaterre***** This study aims to describe the meaning in Theodor Woldsen Storm's poem Die Stadt using Riffaterre's semiotic approach through qualitative methods. The data source in this study is Theodor Woldsen Storm's poem Die Stadt. The data in this study are lines in verses that show the meaning of Die Stadt. The data analysis technique uses Riffaterre's semiotic approach, which is carried out in five stages, namely: (1) heuristic reading, (2) hermeneutic reading, (3) searching for indirect expressions in poetry, (4) determining matrices, models, variants, and (5) determining hypograms.The results of the study of the meaning of the poem die Stadt through Riffaterre's semiotics are as follows: (1) Heuristic reading shows that this poem describes a small, quiet town by the sea, devoid of signs of life, shrouded in thick fog and the monotonous sound of the sea, and serves as the backdrop for Storm's memories of his youth, and (2) the results of hermeneutic reading reveal that the city in this poem is not only a real place but also a symbol of Storm's longing for Husum, gloomy and lonely but still warm in his memories of his youth. (3) The discontinuity of expression takes the form of shifts in meaning consisting of metaphors, personification, and synecdoche; deviations in meaning consist of ambiguity and contradiction; the creation of meaning takes the form of Mischform, a mixture of Kreuzreim and umarmender Reim, and Enjambement. (4) The matrix of the poem is Heimatsehnsucht. The model of the poem is “Doch hängt mein ganzes Herz an dir”. The variants are 3 pieces of data scattered throughout each stanza of the poem. (5) The potential hypogram is equated with the matrix, namely Heimatsehnsucht. The actual hypogram is the poem Oktoberlied. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the meaning in the poem Die Stadt expresses Storm's feelings of longing, loss, and deep attachment to his gloomy but meaningful hometown.
