Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan menguji kelayakan instrumen penilaian tes kognitif berbasis Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) pada elemen Dasar-Dasar Teknik Mesin melalui aplikasi Quizizz untuk siswa Fase E di SMK Kemala Bhayangkari 1 Jakarta. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah masih dominannya penggunaan instrumen penilaian yang berorientasi pada Lower Order Thinking Skills (LOTS), sehingga kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa belum berkembang secara optimal. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan mixed methods dengan desain Exploratory Sequential Design sebagaimana dikemukakan oleh Creswell (2018), yang diawali dengan analisis kebutuhan secara kualitatif dan dilanjutkan dengan pengembangan serta pengujian instrumen secara kuantitatif. Instrumen yang dikembangkan berupa 20 butir soal pilihan ganda HOTS pada level kognitif C4, C5, dan C6 yang disesuaikan dengan capaian pembelajaran mata pelajaran Dasar-Dasar Teknik Mesin dan diimplementasikan melalui Quizizz. Uji validitas isi instrumen dilakukan menggunakan indeks Aiken’s V berdasarkan penilaian ahli materi, ahli bahasa, dan telaah soal. Selain itu, kepraktisan instrumen dianalisis melalui angket respon pendidik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa instrumen penilaian yang dikembangkan memiliki tingkat validitas yang tinggi dan berada pada kategori sangat layak. Hasil uji kepraktisan juga menunjukkan bahwa instrumen mudah digunakan, menarik, dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan pembelajaran. Dengan demikian, instrumen penilaian HOTS berbasis Quizizz ini dinyatakan valid dan praktis untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran Dasar-Dasar Teknik Mesin di SMK. ******************************************************** This study aims to develop and examine the feasibility of a cognitive assessment instrument based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) for the Basic Mechanical Engineering subject using the Quizizz application for Phase E students at SMK Kemala Bhayangkari 1 Jakarta. The background of this study lies in the dominant use of assessment instruments that focus on Lower Order Thinking Skills (LOTS), which limits the development of students’ higher-order thinking abilities. This study employed a mixed methods approach using an Exploratory Sequential Design as proposed by Creswell (2018), beginning with qualitative needs analysis followed by quantitative instrument development and evaluation. The developed instrument consisted of 20 HOTS-based multiple-choice items at cognitive levels C4, C5, and C6, aligned with the learning outcomes of the Basic Mechanical Engineering subject and implemented through Quizizz. Content validity was examined using Aiken’s V index based on evaluations from subject matter experts, language experts, and item reviewers. Instrument practicality was analyzed through teacher response questionnaires. The results indicate that the developed assessment instrument demonstrates a high level of validity and is categorized as highly feasible. The practicality test results also show that the instrument is easy to use, engaging, and appropriate for instructional needs. Therefore, the HOTS-based assessment instrument developed through Quizizz is valid and practical for use in vocational high school learning.
