Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan Bahan Ajar Digital Sejarah lokal Banten berbasis Discovery Learning untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa sekolah dasar dalam pembelajaran IPS. Studi pendahuluan menunjukkan bahwa dalam pembelajaran siswa kesulitan untuk memberikan penjelasan sederhana, menganalisis, menyimpulkan dan menentukan ide strategi serta guru belum memanfaatkan bahan ajar digital secara optimal, sehingga berdampak pada rendahnya keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Oleh karena itu, dikembangkanlah bahan ajar digital sejarah lokal Banten yang dioperasionalkan melalui menu interaktif “Mari mengamati”, “Mari Bertanya”, “Mari mencari tahu”, “Mari Menganalisis”, “Mari Evaluasi” dan “Mari Refleksi”. Model ini dirancang dengan pendekatan Research and Development model Dick & Carey. Validasi ahli menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar digital sejarah lokal Banten ini sangat layak digunakan, dengan skor kelayakan dari validasi ahli desain pembelajaran 89%, ahli materi 96%, ahli bahasa 97%. Dan ahli media 94%. Respons siswa juga sangat positif dengan tingkat kelayakan 85%. Hasil uji coba menunjukkan keterbacaan konten di atas 95% dan peningkatan signifikan dalam kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada kelas eksperimen (N-Gain = 0,77) termasuk kategori tinggi, dibandingkan kelas kontrol (N-Gain = 0,69) yang juga termasuk kategori sedang. Bahan Ajar digital ini tidak hanya mampu meningkatkan lima indikator berpikir kritis (penjelasan, menganalisis data, menentukan kesimpulan, mengevaluasi dan mengembangkan solusi inovatif). Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa bahan ajar digital layak digunakan dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa Sekolah Dasar. Bahan ajar digital sejarah lokal dapat melatih berpikir kritis dan mengenal peristiwa dan tokoh sejarah Banten secara faktual. Namun juga dapat menafsirkan nilai-nilai budaya, perjuangan, dan kearifan lokal yang terkandung di dalamnya, sehingga makna sejarah menjadi lebih relevan dengan kehidupan mereka sehari-hari.Temuan ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap pengembangan inovasi pembelajaran IPS di sekolah dasar, meskipun masih memiliki keterbatasan dalam cakupan materi dan wilayah diseminasi. Diharapkan bahan ajar digital ini dapat direplikasi dan dikembangkan lebih lanjut dalam konteks pembelajaran lain untuk membangun pendidik masa depan yang kritis dan adaptif terhadap perkembangan zaman. Kata Kunci: Bahan ajar digital, Sejarah lokal Banten, Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis, Sekolah Dasar ***** This study aims at developing teaching materials of local history of Banten Province through Discovery Learning method in order to improve students’ critical thinking skills in the teaching-learning of social science lesson (Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial). Based on initial observation in the teaching-learning process, it was shown that the students find difficulty in understanding simple explanations, analyzing, concluding and determining strategic ideas, and also the teacher’s limitation in using digital teaching materials optimally that give impact on the low score of students' critical thinking skills. Therefore, the researcher is interested in developing digital teaching materials of local history of Banten Province through interactive menu entitled “Lets observing”, “Lets Asking”, “Lets Finding Out”, “Lets Analyzing”, and “Lets Evaluating”. The researcher used Dick and Carey model of Research and Development in developing this teaching materials. Based on the expert validation review, this digital teaching materials of local history of Banten Province is highly suitable to be used for teaching learning at elementary school level with a feasibility score by the experts of learning design 89%, material experts 96%, language experts 97%, and media experts 94%. Elementary school students showed a very positive response with a feasibility level of 85%. The trial results of readability of content showed above 95% and a significant increase in students' critical thinking skills in the experimental class is (N-Gain = 0.77) which is considered as in the high category, compared to the control class (N-Gain = 0.69) which is also considered in the medium category. This digital teaching material is not only able to improve the five indicators of critical thinking (explanation, analyzing data, determining conclusions, evaluating and developing innovative solutions), but also supports contextual, flexible, and technology-based learning in the 21st century. It can be concluded that (1) digital teaching materials are suitable to improve critical thinking skills of elementary school students; (2) the findings of this study give contribution to the development and innovation of social science lesson at the elementary school level, although they still have limitations in the scope of material and dissemination aspect. These digital teaching materials can be replicated and further developed in the context of learning other subjects to build future educators who are critical and adaptive toward the development of this era.
