Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran huhungan masyarakat dalam meraih kepercayaan publik di SMAN 70 Jakarta. Sub fokus pada penelitian ini adalah peran, tantangan, dan upaya yang dilakukan humas dalam meraih kepercayaan publik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Informan dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling untuk memperoleh narasumber kunci seperti Wakil Kepala Sekolah Bidang Kehumasan dan Staf Humas, serta snowball sampling untuk menjaring informan pendukung lainnya. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Kemudian dianalisis menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman yang mencakup reduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa humas SMAN 70 berperan sebagai communicator, relationship builder, back-up management, dan good image maker. Tantangan utama meliputi keterbatasan sumber daya manusia, beban kerja tinggi, dan belum adanya SOP manajemen isu dan krisis. Upaya telah dilakukan dengan komunikasi dua arah, memanfaatkan media sosial, melibatkan orang tua dan alumni, serta melaksakanan Survei Kepuasan Masyarakat. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa penguatan kapasitas kehumasan dan penataan manajemen humas, penyusunan SOP, serta optimalisasi evaluasi mandiri diperlukan untuk menjaga kepercayaan publik secara berkelanjutan. ***** This study aims to analyze the role of public relations in building public trust at SMAN 70 Jakarta. The sub-focuses of this research include the roles, challenges, and efforts undertaken by public relations in gaining public trust. This study employs a qualitative approach using a case study method. Informants were selected through purposive sampling to obtain key sources such as the Vice Principal for Public Relations and Public Relations staff, as well as snowball sampling to reach additional supporting informants. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The data were then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the public relations unit at SMAN 70 Jakarta plays roles as a communicator, relationship builder, back-up management, and good image maker. The main challenges include limited human resources, a high workload, and the absence of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for issue and crisis management. Efforts to address these challenges include two-way communication, the use of social media, the involvement of parents and alumni, and the implementation of the Community Satisfaction Survey. The study concludes that strengthening public relations capacity, restructuring public relations management, developing SOPs, and optimizing internal evaluation are necessary to sustain public trust in the long term.
