Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menyimak bahasa Arab siswa kelas VIII di sekolah menengah pertama melalui penerapan teknik Iterative Learning dengan memanfaatkan video animasi sebagai media pembelajaran pendukung. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan menyimak siswa yang disebabkan oleh minimnya paparan bahasa Arab lisan dalam proses pembelajaran, serta penggunaan metode pembelajaran konvensional yang kurang bervariasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus meliputi empat tahap, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Teknik Iterative Learning diterapkan pada tahap pelaksanaan melalui penyajian materi audio secara berulang dan terstruktur, yang didukung dengan penayangan video animasi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, tes (pre-test dan post-test), angket respons siswa, dokumentasi, serta wawancara dengan guru mata pelajaran. Analisis data kuantitatif dilakukan menggunakan perhitungan N-Gain untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa, serta analisis skala Likert untuk mengukur respons siswa terhadap proses pembelajaran yang diterapkan. Sementara itu, data kualitatif dianalisis secara deskriptif berdasarkan hasil observasi dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan teknik Iterative Learning yang didukung oleh penggunaan video animasi memberikan kontribusi yang signifikan terhadap peningkatan keterampilan menyimak siswa. Nilai N-Gain pada siklus pertama sebesar 42,03% dan berada pada kategori sedang, kemudian meningkat pada siklus kedua menjadi 77,10% dan termasuk dalam kategori tinggi. Selain itu, hasil angket respons siswa menunjukkan nilai rata-rata sebesar 4,00 pada skala Likert, yang menandakan adanya respons positif dari siswa. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa proses pembelajaran menjadi lebih menarik, lebih mudah dipahami, dan efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menyimak bahasa Arab. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa teknik Iterative Learning efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menyimak siswa, khususnya apabila didukung oleh media pembelajaran yang sesuai seperti video animasi. Teknik ini dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu alternatif strategi pembelajaran bahasa Arab di tingkat sekolah menengah pertama.***** This study aims to improve Arabic listening skills of eighth-grade students at the junior high school level through the implementation of the Iterative Learning technique, supported by animated videos as instructional media. The research was motivated by students’ low listening proficiency, which resulted from limited exposure to spoken Arabic in the learning process, as well as the use of conventional teaching methods that lack variation. The study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four stages: planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The Iterative Learning technique was applied during the action stage by presenting audio materials repeatedly and systematically, supported by animated video presentations, with the aim of gradually training students to recognize Arabic sounds, intonation, and vocabulary. Data were collected through observation, tests (pre-test and post-test), student response questionnaires, documentation and interviews with the subject teacher. Quantitative data were analyzed using N-Gain calculations to determine the improvement in students’ learning outcomes, along with Likert scale analysis to measure students’ responses to the implemented learning process. Meanwhile, qualitative data were analyzed descriptively based on the results of observations and interviews. The findings indicate that the implementation of the Iterative Learning technique, supported by animated video media, contributed significantly to the improvement of students’ listening skills. The N-Gain value in the first cycle was 42,03%, which falls into the moderate category, and increased in the second cycle to 77,10%, which is classified as high. Furthermore, the student response questionnaire showed an average score of 4,00 on the Likert scale, indicating a positive response from students. This suggests that the learning process became more engaging, easier to understand, and effective in enhancing Arabic listening skills. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the Iterative Learning technique is effective in developing students’ listening skills, particularly when supported by appropriate instructional media such as animated videos. Therefore, this technique can be adopted as an alternative strategy for teaching Arabic at the junior high school level.
