Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran agresi siber pada peserta didik berdasarkan motif paling dominan yang melatarbelakanginya. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VI, VIII, dan IX SMP Negeri yang berlokasi di Kecamatan Cempaka Putih, Kota Jakarta Pusat sebanyak 345 orang. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pengambilan data dilakukan menggunakan instrumen Cyber-Aggression Typology Questionnaire (CATQ) yang dikembangkan oleh Runions et al (2016), yang telah diadaptasi ke dalam Bahasa Indonesia. Analisis data dilakukan dengan analisis statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas peserta didik, yakni sebanyak 231 (67 %) peserta didik memiliki kecenderungan melakukan agresi siber karena motif impulsive-aversive aggression, yaitu reaksi impulsif untuk terhadap situasi provokatif atau konflik yang dialami untuk mengurangi emosi negatif yang dirasakan. Oleh sebab itu, guru bimbingan dan konseling perlu merancang layanan untuk meningkatkan regulasi emosi dan kontrol diri peserta didik agar peserta didik mampu untuk merespons situasi yang membangkitkan emosi negatif secara adaptfi, bukan melalui agresi siber. ***** This study aims to describe cyber-aggression among students based on the most dominant underlying motive. The sample of this study consisted of 345 public junior high school students from Grades VI, VIII, and IX located in Cempaka Putih District, Central Jakarta City. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Data were collected using the Cyber-Aggression Typology Questionnaire (CATQ) developed by Runions et al. (2016), which had been adapted into Indonesian. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistical analysis. The results showed that the majority of students, namely 231 students (67%), tended to engage in cyber-aggression due to the impulsive-aversive aggression motive, which refers to impulsive reactions to provocative situations or conflicts experienced in order to reduce negative emotions. Therefore, school counselors are expected to design guidance and counseling services aimed at enhancing students’ emotion regulation and self-control, so that students are able to respond to situations that elicit negative emotions in an adaptive manner rather than through cyber-aggressive behavior.
