Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan adaptasi dan menguji validitas serta reliabilitas instrumen Student Career Readiness Index (SCRI) pada siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) di Indonesia. Kesiapan karier merupakan konstruk penting dalam membantu siswa merencanakan, mempersiapkan, dan mengambil keputusan terkait pendidikan lanjutan dan dunia kerja. Namun, hingga saat ini masih terbatas instrumen kesiapan karier yang terstandar dan sesuai dengan konteks budaya serta sistem pendidikan Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain adaptasi dan validasi instrumen. Proses adaptasi dilakukan mengacu pada pedoman International Test Commission (ITC) melalui tahapan penerjemahan oleh dua penerjemah independen Bahasa Inggris ke Bahasa Indonesia, back translation oleh satu penerjemah independen, serta telaah expert judgment. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 1.116 siswa kelas XI SMA yang berasal dari wilayah urban, peri-urban, dan semi-urban/rural. Analisis data meliputi uji validitas isi menggunakan indeks Aiken’s V, uji validitas konstruk menggunakan pendekatan Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) dengan bantuan perangkat lunak SmartPLS, serta uji reliabilitas menggunakan Composite Reliability (CR) dan Average Variance Extracted (AVE). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa seluruh item SCRI versi adaptasi memiliki validitas isi yang baik. Struktur empat dimensi SCRI, yaitu Career Planning, Transition Skills, Information and Help-Seeking Skills, dan Work Readiness, dapat dikonfirmasi secara empiris. Sebagian besar dimensi menunjukkan reliabilitas yang memadai. Namun, dimensi Work Readiness memiliki nilai reliabilitas yang relatif lebih rendah dibandingkan dimensi lainnya. Temuan ini mencerminkan kompleksitas konstruk Work Readiness pada siswa SMA, yang dipengaruhi oleh variasi konteks sosial, pendidikan, dan lingkungan perkembangan karier siswa, sebagaimana juga dibahas dalam bagian pembahasan penelitian ini. Secara keseluruhan, hasil adaptasi menunjukkan bahwa SCRI versi Bahasa Indonesia memiliki kesetaraan konseptual dan kontekstual dengan instrumen asli serta layak digunakan sebagai alat asesmen kesiapan karier siswa SMA di Indonesia. **************************** This study aimed to adapt and examine the validity and reliability of the Student Career Readiness Index (SCRI) for senior high school students in Indonesia. Career readiness is an essential construct in supporting students to plan, prepare, and make decisions regarding further education and the world of work. However, standardized career readiness instruments that are appropriate to the Indonesian cultural context and educational system remain limited. This study employed a quantitative approach with an instrument adaptation and validation design. The adaptation process followed the International Test Commission (ITC) guidelines, involving forward translation by two independent English–Indonesian translators, back translation by one independent Indonesian–English translator, and expert judgment review. The participants consisted of 1,116 eleventh-grade senior high school students from urban, peri urban, and semi-urban/rural areas. Data analysis included content validity testing using Aiken’s V index, construct validity testing using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS software, and reliability testing using Composite Reliability (CR) and Average Variance Extracted (AVE). The results indicated that all items of the adapted SCRI demonstrated good content validity. The four-dimensional structure of the SCRI—Career Planning, Transition Skills, Information and Help-Seeking Skills, and Work Readiness—was empirically supported. Most dimensions showed adequate reliability; however, the Work Readiness dimension demonstrated relatively lower reliability compared to the other dimensions. This finding reflects the complexity of the Work Readiness construct among senior high school students, which is influenced by variations in social, educational, and career developmental contexts, as discussed in the results and discussion sections. Overall, the adaptation results indicate that the Indonesian version of the SCRI has conceptual and contextual equivalence with the original instrument and is suitable for use as an assessment tool for career readiness among senior high school students in Indonesia.
