Abstract

In recent years, the Pancasila Student Profile has been integrated into various school subjects, including English. As textbook play an important role in supporting language learning and students’ character development, it is necessary to examine how the values of the Pancasila Student Profile are represented in English textbook content. This study examines the representation and forms of Pancasila Student Profile values in an English textbook published by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Indonesia, entitled “Life Today,” designed for twelfth-grade students. The research employed a content analysis method, focusing on sentences and paragraph, dialogues, pictures, and learning activities. The findings reveal that all dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile are represented in the textbook, with critical reasoning appearing most frequently (33.21%), followed by faith, piety to God, and noble character (30.54%), mutual cooperation (14.5%), creativity (12.21%), global diversity (6.1%), and independence (3.44%). These dimensions are reflected across sentences, conversations, images, and exercises. However, their representation remains uneven. Therefore, future textbooks should ensure a more balanced distribution of the Pancasila Student Profile. ***** Dalam beberapa tahun terakhir, Profil Pelajar Pancasila telah diintegrasikan ke dalam berbagai mata pelajaran sekolah, termasuk Bahasa Inggris. Mengingat buku teks berperan penting dalam mendukung pembelajaran bahasa serta pengembangan karakter peserta didik, perlu dilakukan kajian mengenai representasi nilai-nilai Profil Pelajar Pancasila dalam isi buku teks bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini mengkaji representasi dan bentuk nilai-nilai Profil Pelajar Pancasila dalam buku teks Bahasa Inggris yang diterbitkan oleh Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Indonesia, berjudul “Life Today,” yang dirancang untuk siswa kelas 12. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis isi, yang berfokus pada kalimat, dialog, gambar, dan aktivitas pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semua dimensi Profil Siswa Pancasila terwakili dalam buku teks tersebut, dengan penalaran kritis muncul paling sering (33,21%), diikuti oleh iman, ketakwaan kepada Tuhan, dan karakter mulia (30,54%), kerja sama timbal balik (14,5%), kreativitas (12,21%), keragaman global (6,1%), dan kemandirian (3,44%). Dimensi-dimensi ini tercermin dalam kalimat, percakapan, gambar, dan latihan. Namun, representasinya masih belum merata. Oleh karena itu, buku teks di masa mendatang harus memastikan distribusi Profil Siswa Pancasila yang lebih seimbang.
