Abstract

ABSTRAK Penumbuhan cinta dan kasih sayang terlebih pada hewan peliharaan pada anak diperlukan sejak dini dengan media yang tepat Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan informasi mengenai cara memelihara hewan mamalia anjing, kucing, kelinci, dan hamster sebagai hewan peliharaan melalui pocket book untuk anak usia 6-8 tahun yang sedang belajar untuk menumbuhkan rasa kasih sayang dan empatinya. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dan Design Thinking dengan tahapan dengan proses pengambilan data wawancara semi struktur dan Focus Group Discussion dengan anak usia 6 hingga 8 tahun. Hasil berupa buku saku atau pocket book cara memelihara hewan mamalia dengan hasil validasi ahli media telah memenuhi standar visual untuk publikasi dan edukasi, serta hasil validasi calon pengguna bahwa ilustrasi dan isi materi sudah membantu pemahaman anak usia 6-8 tahun. Kata Kunci: Pocket Book, Hewan Mamalia Peliharaan, Anak Usia 6-8 Tahun ***** ABTRACT The cultivation of love and compassion, especially toward pets, needs to be introduced to children from an early age through appropriate media. This study aims to provide information on how to care for mammalian pets—dogs, cats, rabbits, and hamsters—through a pocket book designed for children aged 6–8 years who are learning to develop empathy and affection. This research employs a qualitative method and Design Thinking approach, with data collection conducted through semi-structured interviews and Focus Group Discussions involving children aged 6 to 8 years. The result of this study is a pocket book on how to care for mammalian pets. The media expert validation indicates that the pocket book meets visual standards for publication and education, while validation from prospective users shows that the illustrations and content effectively support the understanding of children aged 6–8 years.
