Abstract

Pengaruh Media Wizer.me terhadap Keterampilan Menyimak Teks Berita Siswa Kelas VII SMPN 21 Kota Bekasi. Jakarta: Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia, Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni, Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media Wizer.me terhadap keterampilan menyimak teks berita siswa kelas VII SMPN 21 Kota Bekasi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan desain quasi experiment jenis pretest-posttest control group design. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMPN 21 Kota Bekasi, dengan sampel 78 siswa yang terbagi menjadi dua kelas, yaitu kelas VII.4 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VII.6 sebagai kelas kontrol. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengambil sampel adalah purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya pengaruh signifikan pada kelas eksperimen. Pada kelas eksperimen, rata-rata nilai pretest 71,75 dan 82,83 pada posttest dengan selisih 11,08 poin. Kelas kontrol hanya memiliki pengaruh sebesar 61,66 pada pretest dan 63,97 pada posttest. Hasil uji-t menunjukkan bahwa nilai Thitung lebih besar daripada Ttabel pada taraf signifikansi 0,05, sehingga H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa media Wizer.me berpengaruh signifikan terhadap keterampilan menyimak teks berita siswa kelas VII SMPN 21 Kota Bekasi. Media Wizer.me juga dapat diimplikasikan terhadap keterampilan menulis teks cerpen. Jakarta: Study Program of Indonesian Language and Literature Education, Faculty of Language and Arts, Universitas Negeri Jakarta. This study aims to determine the influence of Wizer.me as an instructional media on the news-listening skills of seventh-grade students at SMPN 21 Bekasi City. The research employed a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design, specifically a pretest–posttest control group design. The study population consisted of all seventh-grade students, and a sample of 78 students was selected using purposive sampling. The sample was divided into two groups: class VII.4 as the experimental group and class VII.6 as the control group.The findings indicate that Wizer.me had a significant effect on students’ listening skills. The experimental group’s mean pretest score of 71.75 increased to 82.83 in the posttest, showing an improvement of 11.08 points. Meanwhile, the control group showed only a slight increase, from 61.66 in the pretest to 63.97 in the posttest. The t-test results revealed that the calculated t value exceeded the critical t value at the 0.05 significance level, leading to the rejection of H0 and the acceptance of H1. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of Wizer.me significantly enhances students’ news-listening skills. The study also suggests that Wizer.me can be effectively applied to other language-learning skills, such as writing short stories. Keywords: Wizer.me Media, listening skills, news text.
