Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa yang belajar dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think-Pair-Square dan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Group Investigation. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada kelas VIII-B dan VIII-E di SMP Negeri 74 Jakarta semester genap tahun pelajaran 2017/2018 pada materi Prisma dan Limas. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen semu (quasi experiment). Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling dengan menentukan kelas eksperimen I (model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think-Pair-Square) dan kelas eksperimen II (model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Group Investigation) yang dipilih secara acak dari enam kelas yang memenuhi uji normalitas, homogenitas, dan kesamaan rata-rata. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis pada materi Prisma dan Limas. Sebelum digunakan, instrumen tersebut telah memenuhi uji validitas isi, validitas konstruk, dan validitas empiris. Perhitungan reliabilitas dilakukan dengan menggunakan rumus Alpha Cronbach dan diperoleh koefisien reliabilitas sebesar 0,7821 yang termasuk dalam kategori tinggi. Berdasarkan perhitungan data penelitian, kedua kelas eksperimen berasal dari populasi yang berdistribusi normal dan memiliki varians yang sama atau homogen. Oleh karena itu, pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan menggunakan statistik uji-t dengan varians yang sama. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian, diperoleh nilai thitung = 3,7626 dan ttabel = 1,6679. Nilai thitung lebih besar daripada ttabelsehingga H0 ditolak pada taraf signifikansi α = 0,05. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa yang belajar dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think-Pair-Square lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang belajar dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Group Investigation. *** This research aimed to know a comparison of mathematical critical thinking skill of students who studied with cooperative learning model type Think-PairSquare and Group Investigation. It took place in class of VIII-B and VIII-E of SMPN 74 Jakarta in the second semester of 2017/2018 on Prism and Pyramid course. The method of this research used quasi experiment. The sampling method used cluster random sampling by assigning randomly of two classes for experimental class I (cooperative learning model type Think-Pair-Square) and experimental class II (cooperative learning model type Group Investigation) from six classes which met normality test, homogeneity test, and equality of means test. The instrument used in this research was post-test of mathematical critical thinking skill on Prism and Pyramid course. Before used, it had to meet content validity, construct validity, and empirical validity. The reliability of instrument was calculated by using Alpha Cronbach formula and the coefficient reliability obtained was 0,7821 which is categorized as high reliability. Based on tests of research data, the two experimental classes were from a population with normal distribution and had equal variances or homogenous. Thus, statistical hypothesis testing used was two sample t-test with equal variances. It resulted tscore = 3,7626 and ttable = 1,6679. The value of t score is greater than t table so H0 was rejected at level of significance α = 0,05. Therefore, it can be concluded that students who studied with cooperative learning model type Think-Pair-Square had greater mathematical critical thinking skill than students who studied with cooperative learning model type Group Investigation.
