Abstract

Penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman literal dan inferensial siswa kelas IV SDN Gondangdia 01 melalui penerapan model Cooperative Learning tipe Make a Match dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa, terutama dalam menemukan informasi tersurat, memahami makna tersirat, serta menarik kesimpulan dari teks bacaan. Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus yang meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 31 siswa kelas IV SDN Gondangdia 01. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes, observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model Cooperative Learning tipe Make a Match dapat meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa. Pada aspek pemahaman literal, persentase ketuntasan meningkat dari 77,42% pada siklus I menjadi 96,77% pada siklus II. Pada aspek pemahaman inferensial, persentase ketuntasan meningkat dari 64,52% pada siklus I menjadi 93,55% pada siklus II. Aktivitas guru juga mengalami peningkatan dari 79,17% menjadi 95,83%, sedangkan aktivitas siswa meningkat dari 68,18% menjadi 86,36%. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model Cooperative Learning tipe Make a Match efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman literal dan inferensial siswa kelas IV SDN Gondangdia 01. Kata kunci: keterampilan membaca pemahaman, pemahaman literal, pemahaman inferensial, Cooperative Learning tipe Make a Match, Bahasa Indonesia. ***** This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aimed to improve the literal and inferential reading comprehension skills of fourth-grade students at SDN Gondangdia 01 through the implementation of the Make a Match type of Cooperative Learning model in Indonesian language learning. This study was motivated by the low level of students’ reading comprehension skills, particularly in identifying explicit information, understanding implied meanings, and drawing conclusions from reading texts. The research was conducted in two cycles, consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The participants were 31 fourth-grade students of SDN Gondangdia 01. Data were collected through tests, observations, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques. The findings revealed that the implementation of the Make a Match type of Cooperative Learning model improved students’ reading comprehension skills. In terms of literal comprehension, the percentage of students achieving mastery increased from 77.42% in Cycle I to 96.77% in Cycle II. For inferential comprehension, the mastery percentage increased from 64.52% in Cycle I to 93.55% in Cycle II. Teacher activity also improved from 79.17% to 95.83%, while student activity increased from 68.18% to 86.36%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Make a Match type of Cooperative Learning model is effective in improving the literal and inferential reading comprehension skills of fourth-grade students at SDN Gondangdia 01.
