Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan mengimplementasikan model pemberdayaan ibu-ibu PKK Pokja III di Kelurahan Pegadungan dalam pengelolaan limbah tekstil rumah tangga guna mewujudkan sustainable living di masyarakat. Permasalahan limbah tekstil menjadi isu penting akibat meningkatnya konsumsi fast fashion yang berdampak pada lingkungan, sementara kesadaran dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam pengelolaannya masih rendah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Participatory Action Research (PAR) dengan melibatkan partisipasi aktif masyarakat dalam setiap tahapan penelitian, mulai dari identifikasi masalah, perencanaan, pelaksanaan, hingga refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah ibu-ibu PKK Pokja III di Kelurahan Pegadungan, dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan workshop dan praktik mandiri pengelolaan limbah tekstil mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan, kesadaran, dan keterampilan peserta, serta mendorong perubahan sikap dalam memanfaatkan kembali limbah tekstil menjadi produk bernilai guna. Selain itu, program ini juga membangun ruang pembelajaran partisipatif dan memperkuat peran PKK sebagai agen perubahan dalam pemberdayaan di masyarakat. Dengan demikian, pengelolaan limbah tekstil berbasis komunitas melalui pendekatan Participatory Action Research terbukti efektif dalam mewujudkan sustainable living di tingkat masyarakat. ***** This study aims to design and implement a community empowerment model for women of PKK Pokja III in Pegadungan Village in managing household textile waste to achieve sustainable living within the community. The issue of textile waste has become increasingly important due to the rise of fast fashion consumption, which has significant environmental impacts, while public awareness and skills in managing such waste remain low. This research employs a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach by involving active community participation in every stage of the research process, including problem identification, planning, implementation, and reflection. The subjects of this study are members of PKK Pokja III in Pegadungan Village, and data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and Focus Group Discussions (FGD). The results show that workshops and independent practices in textile waste management were able to enhance participants’ knowledge, awareness, and skills, as well as encourage changes in attitudes toward reusing textile waste into valuable products. In addition, the program created a participatory learning space and strengthened the role of PKK as an agent of change in community empowerment. Therefore, community-based textile waste management through a Participatory Action Research approach has proven to be effective in promoting sustainable liviig at the community level.
