Abstract

Penelitian ini berangkat dari adanya kesenjangan empiris antara capaian pembelajaran dan kemampuan aktual siswa SMK jurusan akuntansi dalam memahami teks bahasa Inggris. Rendahnya penguasaan kosakata teknis, dominasi pemahaman literal, serta keterbatasan model pembelajaran yang belum mengintegrasikan kemandirian, kolaborasi, dan teknologi menjadi isu krusial dalam praktik pembelajaran membaca. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan model pembelajaran Pemahaman Bacaan berbasis Collaborative Flipped Learning (CFL) melalui moda HyFlex dalam konteks English for Specific Purposes untuk Akuntansi. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan mixed methods dengan desain Research and Development mengacu pada Borg & Gall hingga tahap uji lapangan utama. Model dikembangkan berdasarkan landasan konstruktivisme, dan teori pembelajaran bahasa, dengan penilaian mengacu pada Taksonomi Barrett. Subjek penelitian melibatkan 90 siswa SMK jurusan akuntansi. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket, observasi, wawancara, dan tes pretest-posttest. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model CFL-HyFlex memenuhi kriteria kelayakan awal dan kepraktisan, serta menunjukkan efektivitas awal dengan peningkatan kemampuan Pemahaman Bacaan pada kategori cukup baik. Model ini juga meningkatkan keterlibatan, interaksi kolaboratif, dan kemandirian belajar siswa dalam memahami teks berbasis akuntansi. Kebaruan penelitian terletak pada integrasi kolaboratif, flipped learning, dan HyFlex dalam satu model pembelajaran Pemahaman Bacaan yang kontekstual, dan relevan dengan kebutuhan dunia kerja. Kata kunci: Pemahaman Bacaan, ESP, Collaborative Flipped Learning, HyFlex. *****This study is grounded in an empirical gap between the intended learning outcomes and the actual abilities of vocational high school students majoring in Accounting in comprehending English texts. Limited mastery of technical vocabulary, the predominance of literal comprehension, and the lack of instructional models that effectively integrate learner autonomy, collaboration, and technology constitute critical issues in current reading practices. This study aims to develop a reading comprehension instructional model based on Collaborative Flipped Learning (CFL) through the HyFlex mode within the context of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) for Accounting. The study adopts a mixed-methods approach using a Research and Development design, adapted from Borg and Gall up to the main field testing stage. The model is developed based on constructivist principles and language learning theories, with assessment grounded in Barrett’s Taxonomy. The participants consist of 90 vocational high school students majoring in Accounting. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, interviews, and pretest–posttest measures. The findings indicate that the CFL-HyFlex model demonstrates initial feasibility and practicality, as well as preliminary effectiveness, evidenced by a moderate improvement in students’ reading comprehension. The model also enhances student engagement, collaborative interaction, and learner autonomy in comprehending accounting-related texts. The novelty of this study lies in the systematic integration of collaborative learning, flipped learning, and the HyFlex modality into a unified reading comprehension model that is contextualized and aligned with workplace demands.
