Abstract

Berdasarkan hal tersebut, pengembangan model permainan air ramah disabilitas dapat menjadi alternatif kegiatan rekreasi yang inklusif, aman, dan sesuai dengan karakteristik anak disabilitas intelektual ringan untuk mendukung perkembangan motorik, kognitif, dan sosial mereka.***** Children with mild intellectual disabilities still face limited access to play activities that are appropriate to their characteristics and needs. The available game models are generally not yet adaptive, causing children to experience difficulties in understanding instructions, participating actively, and developing motor, cognitive, and social skills. This study aims to develop a water game model based on recreational sports that is friendly for children with mild intellectual disabilities and to test its feasibility. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Needs analysis was conducted through observation and interviews with SOIna DKI Jakarta coaches. The product developed consisted of 15 water game designs which were then validated by game experts, disability experts, and swimming experts. The results showed that after the validation and revision process, 14 water game models were obtained and declared feasible for implementation with children with mild intellectual disabilities. The developed models fulfilled the aspects of safety, comfort, and enjoyment, and were considered capable of increasing children's interest, participation, and involvement in water activities. Based on these, the development of disability-friendly water game models can serve as an alternative recreational activity that is inclusive, safe, and suitable for the characteristics of children with mild intellectual disabilities to support their motor, cognitive, and social development.
