Abstract

***** This study aims to analyze the 100-meter freestyle swimming stroke performance in the men's Super Final at the 2026 National Aquatic Championship. The population of this study its 24 consisted of all officially registered male swimmers in the Age Group (KU) I,II, III and Senior categories. By employing a purposive sampling technique, a sample of 7 athletes. Data were collected using documentation or video recording techniques, a Mad Wave 3X-100 Digital Quartz Stopwatch, and a SEIKO Stopwatch. The results indicated that the best performance was achieved by the athlete with the most optimal technical efficiency, who recorded the fastest accumulated time (50.33 seconds) due to a stable stroke rate (50.7 to 48.0 strokes/minute) and a low total stroke count (69 strokes). Conversely, the athlete with the slowest time (53.21 seconds) exhibited movement inefficiency, where a highly elevated initial stroke rate was not balanced by adequate stroke length (starting at 1.43 meters and dropping to 1.32 meters), resulting in physical fatigue during the second half of the race and forcing a total of 76 strokes. In conclusion, the primary determinant of the race outcome is the smoothness of the technical transition and the ability to prevent the shortening of the arm reach in the second 50 meters.
