Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan strategi komunikasi kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan komitmen kerja guru di SMP Negeri 115 Jakarta. Fokus penelitian ini meliputi bentuk dan pola komunikasi kepala sekolah kepada guru, wujud komitmen kerja guru, faktor pendukung dan penghambat strategi komunikasi kepala sekolah, serta dampak strategi komunikasi kepala sekolah terhadap komitmen kerja guru. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi, lalu dianalisis melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) strategi komunikasi kepala sekolah dilaksanakan melalui komunikasi formal dan informal dengan pola komunikasi yang terbuka, partisipatif, persuasif, dan fleksibel. Komunikasi dilakukan melalui rapat, pengarahan, diskusi langsung, grup WhatsApp, serta pendekatan interpersonal yang membangun hubungan kerja harmonis antara kepala sekolah dan guru; (2) wujud komitmen kerja guru di SMP Negeri 115 Jakarta terlihat dari loyalitas, tanggung jawab, kedisiplinan, partisipasi aktif dalam kegiatan sekolah, serta kesediaan guru untuk mendukung programprogram sekolah secara berkelanjutan; (3) faktor pendukung strategi komunikasi kepala sekolah meliputi keterbukaan, hubungan kerja yang kondusif, dukungan teknologi komunikasi, serta budaya kerja kolaboratif, sedangkan faktor penghambat meliputi perbedaan persepsi, keterbatasan waktu, dan kesibukan masing-masing individu; dan (4) strategi komunikasi kepala sekolah memberikan dampak positif terhadap komitmen kerja guru, seperti meningkatnya motivasi kerja, rasa memiliki terhadap sekolah, kerja sama antar guru, serta semangat dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa strategi komunikasi kepala sekolah yang dilakukan secara terbuka, partisipatif, dan berkesinambungan mampu membangun hubungan kerja yang positif serta meningkatkan komitmen kerja guru di SMP Negeri 115 Jakarta. Komunikasi yang efektif tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai penyampaian informasi, tetapi juga menjadi sarana membangun kepercayaan, motivasi, dan keterikatan guru terhadap sekolah sehingga mendukung terciptanya lingkungan pendidikan yang kondusif dan berkualitas. Kata kunci: strategi komunikasi, kepala sekolah, komitmen kerja guru,komunikasi organisasi. ***** This study aims to describe the principal's communication strategy in increasing teacher work commitment at SMP Negeri 115 Jakarta. The focus of this study includes the form and pattern of communication between the principal and teachers, the level of teacher work commitment, supporting and inhibiting factors of the principal's communication strategy, and the impact of the principal's communication strategy on teacher work commitment. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies, then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that: (1) the principal's communication strategy is implemented through formal and informal communication with an open, participatory, persuasive, and flexible communication pattern. Communication is carried out through meetings, briefings, direct discussions, WhatsApp groups, and interpersonal approaches that build harmonious working relationships between the principal and teachers; (2) the level of teacher work commitment at SMP Negeri 115 Jakarta is seen from loyalty, responsibility, discipline, active participation in school activities, and the willingness of teachers to support school programs on an ongoing basis; (3) Supporting factors for the principal's communication strategy include openness, conducive working relationships, communication technology support, and a collaborative work culture. While inhibiting factors include differences in perception, time constraints, and individual busyness; and (4) the principal's communication strategy has a positive impact on teacher work commitment, such as increased work motivation, a sense of belonging to the school, cooperation among teachers, and enthusiasm for improving the quality of learning. This study concludes that the principal's communication strategy, implemented in an open, participatory, and sustainable manner, can build positive working relationships and increase teacher work commitment at SMP Negeri 115 Jakarta. Effective communication not only functions as a means of conveying information but also serves as a means of building teacher trust, motivation, and commitment to the school, thus supporting the creation of a conducive and quality educational environment.
