Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh model Inquiry-Based Learning terhadap inovasi teknik penataan sanggul mahasiswa serta menganalisis pengaruh model Case-Based Learning terhadap inovasi teknik penataan sanggul mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Tata Rias Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode kuasi-eksperimen melalui desain pretest-posttest pada dua kelompok perlakuan yang diterapkan secara terpisah. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 60 mahasiswa, terdiri atas 30 mahasiswa pada kelompok Inquiry-Based Learning dan 30 mahasiswa pada kelompok Case-Based Learning. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan instrumen penilaian unjuk kerja inovasi teknik penataan sanggul yang telah divalidasi oleh ahli, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif, uji normalitas Shapiro-Wilk, uji homogenitas Levene's Test, independent samples t-test, paired sample t-test, analisis N-Gain, dan ukuran efek Cohen's d. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedua model pembelajaran berpengaruh signifikan terhadap inovasi teknik penataan sanggul mahasiswa (p < 0,001). Pada kelompok Inquiry-Based Learning, rata-rata skor meningkat dari 68,92 menjadi 95,94 dengan nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,864 (kategori tinggi) dan Cohen's d sebesar 4,014 (ukuran efek sangat besar). Pada kelompok Case-Based Learning, rata-rata skor meningkat dari 64,64 menjadi 98,19 dengan nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,946 (kategori tinggi) dan Cohen's d sebesar 5,166 (ukuran efek sangat besar). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model Inquiry-Based Learning dan Case-Based Learning mampu meningkatkan inovasi teknik penataan sanggul mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Tata Rias Universitas Negeri Jakarta. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a pretest–posttest design involving two separate treatment groups. The sample consisted of 60 students, comprising 30 students in the Inquiry-Based Learning group and 30 students in the Case-Based Learning group. Data were collected using a performance assessment instrument for hair bun styling technique innovation that had been validated by experts. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Shapiro–Wilk normality test, Levene's test for homogeneity of variance, the independent samples t-test, the paired samples t-test, N-Gain analysis, and Cohen's d effect size. The findings revealed that both learning models had a statistically significant effect on students' hair bun styling technique innovation (p < 0.001). In the Inquiry-Based Learning group, the mean score increased from 68.92 on the pretest to 95.94 on the posttest, with an N-Gain score of 0.864 (high category) and a Cohen's d value of 4.014 (very large effect size). In the Case-Based Learning group, the mean score increased from 64.64 on the pretest to 98.19 on the posttest, with an N-Gain score of 0.946 (high category) and a Cohen's d value of 5.166 (very large effect size). Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the implementation of Inquiry-Based Learning and Case-Based Learning effectively improves hair bun styling technique innovation among students of the Cosmetology Education Study Program at Universitas Negeri Jakarta.
