Abstract
***** This research aims to analyze the phenomenon of uncommitted romance in the form of unrelated relationships (HTS) among students at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, Jakarta State University (FISH UNJ), including motivation, interaction dynamics, and its impact on emotional, social, and academic aspects. This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach to explore students' subjective experiences in depth. Data collection techniques were conducted through interviews and observations of students who have been or are currently in unrelated relationships. The results show that students tend to choose unrelated relationships because of the desire to achieve emotional closeness without being bound by formal commitments. The form of interaction in this relationship is characterized by high communication intensity, expressions of affection, and closeness that resembles a typical romantic relationship. However, the lack of clarity of status gives rise to various impacts, such as anxiety, uncertainty, jealousy, and imbalanced expectations between individuals. In addition, unrelated relationships also have the potential to affect students' learning concentration and psychological condition. This study emphasizes that uncommitted romance is a complex modern relationship phenomenon, so a more critical understanding and education regarding healthy and conscious relationships in the campus environment are needed.
