Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik melalui penggunaan media video animasi pada materi sistem pernapasan manusia serta mendeskripsikan penerapannya dalam pembelajaran IPA di kelas V-C SDN Rawamangun 02. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Kemmis dan McTaggart yang dilaksanakan pada bulan April–Mei 2026 dalam tiga siklus yang meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 30 peserta didik kelas V-C SDN Rawamangun 02. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, tes tertulis, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan media video animasi dalam pembelajaran IPA dapat dilaksanakan dengan baik, ditunjukkan oleh peningkatan tindakan peneliti dari 75,00% pada siklus I menjadi 87,50% pada siklus II dan mencapai 95,00% pada siklus III. Kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik juga mengalami peningkatan berdasarkan hasil observasi dari 57,14% pada siklus I menjadi 71,43% pada siklus II dan mencapai 89,29% pada siklus III. Hasil tes tertulis kemampuan berpikir kritis meningkat dari 50,00% pada siklus I menjadi 76,67% pada siklus II dan mencapai 86,67% pada siklus III. Peningkatan tersebut terjadi pada aspek analisis (analysis), evaluasi (evaluation), inferensi (inference), dan eksplanasi (explanation). Hasil penelitian telah mencapai indikator keberhasilan yang ditetapkan, yaitu ≥75% dengan target ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 75%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, penggunaan media video animasi dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada materi sistem pernapasan manusia di kelas V-C SDN Rawamangun 02. ***** This study aimed to improve students’ critical thinking skills through the use of animated video media on the topic of the human respiratory system and to describe its implementation in science learning in Grade V-C of SDN Rawamangun 02. The study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted from April to May 2026 in three cycles consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The participants were 30 fifth-grade students of SDN Rawamangun 02. Data were collected through observation, written tests, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the implementation of animated video media in science learning improved across the three cycles, as indicated by the increase in the implementation of learning activities from 75.00% in Cycle I to 87.50% in Cycle II and 95.00% in Cycle III. Students’ critical thinking skills also improved, as reflected in the observation results, which increased from 57.14% in Cycle I to 71.43% in Cycle II and 89.29% in Cycle III. Furthermore, the results of the written test increased from 50.00% in Cycle I to 76.67% in Cycle II and 86.67% in Cycle III. The improvement was observed in the aspects of analysis, evaluation, inference, and explanation. The study achieved the predetermined success criterion of at least 75%, with a classical mastery target of 75%. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the use of animated video media effectively improved students’ critical thinking skills on the topic of the human respiratory system in Grade V-C of SDN Rawamangun 02.
