Abstract
***** The competency readiness of vocational high school students is a critical factor in preparing for the Vocational Competency Test (UKK); however, there are still various factors believed to influence it, such as the learning environment, practical experience, perceptions of technical drawing as a profession, and self-efficacy. This study aims to analyze the influence of the learning environment, practical experience, and perceptions of technical drawing work on competency readiness through self-efficacy among 12th-grade students in the Machining Technology program. This study employs a quantitative approach using an ex post facto method. The research sample consisted of 121 students analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (PLS-SEM) with the assistance of SmartPLS 3. The results indicate that the learning environment, practical experience, and perceptions of technical drawing work do not have a significant direct effect on competency readiness. Self-efficacy has a positive and significant effect on competency readiness. Furthermore, self-efficacy does not mediate the effect of the learning environment on competency readiness, but it does mediate the effects of practical experience and perceptions of technical drawing work on competency readiness. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that self-efficacy is a crucial factor in enhancing the competency readiness of Mechanical Engineering students.
