Abstract
***** This study aims to reduce self-harming tantrum behaviors in a student with mild autism using the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) method. The research employed a SingleSubject Research (SSR) method with an A-B-A design. The subject of this study was a thirdgrade student with mild autism at Sekolah Dasar Negeri 12 Rawamangun Pagi, who experienced difficulties controlling behavior during tantrums. Data collection was conducted through observation, recording the frequency of self-harming behaviors during task performance. The analysis of the research results utilized visual analysis techniques both within and between conditions. The findings of this study indicated that the student's self-harming tantrum behavior showed a decrease in the frequency of hand-striking the philtrum. The downward trend in the data decreased significantly during the intervention (B), the level change decreased, and there was no data overlap, indicating that the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) method was effectively implemented to reduce self-harming tantrum behaviors in the student with autism.
