Abstract

MUHAMMAD FAJAR IRZHA FARINDRA. Analisis Pemahaman Konseptual Peserta Didik melalui Model Learning Cycle 5E Berbantuan Two Stay Two Stray pada Materi Stoikiometri Kelas X. Skripsi, Program Studi Pendidikan Kimia, Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Juli 2026. Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh profil pemahaman konseptual peserta didik melalui penerapan model Learning Cycle 5E berbantuan Two Stay Two Stray pada materi stoikiometri kelas X. Penelitian dilaksanakan di salah satu SMA Negeri di Jakarta pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2025/2026 dengan melibatkan 36 peserta didik kelas X sebagai subjek penelitian. Model pembelajaran Learning Cycle 5E yang mencakup lima tahap, yaitu engagement, exploration, explanation, elaboration, dan evaluation. Pemahaman konseptual peserta didik diukur menggunakan instrumen three-tier test pada tujuh aspek, yaitu menafsirkan, mencontohkan, mengklasifikasikan, merangkum, menyimpulkan, membandingkan, dan menjelaskan, kemudian dikategorikan menjadi paham konsep, kurang paham konsep, miskonsepsi, dan tidak paham konsep. Data dianalisis melalui triangulasi dari hasil tes, observasi, jurnal reflektif, lembar kerja peserta didik, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik yang termasuk kategori paham konsep mencapai 57,65%, miskonsepsi 18,04%, kurang paham konsep 14,31%, dan tidak paham konsep 10,00%. Persentase paham konsep tertinggi ditemukan pada aspek mencontohkan (69,12%) dan terendah pada aspek menjelaskan (50,00%), sementara persentase miskonsepsi tertinggi ditemukan pada aspek membandingkan (33,82%). Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar peserta didik berada pada kategori paham konsep, namun aspek menjelaskan dan membandingkan masih menjadi aspek yang paling perlu ditingkatkan. This descriptive qualitative study aimed to obtain a profile of students' conceptual understanding through the implementation of the 5E Learning Cycle model assisted by Two Stay Two Stray on grade X stoichiometry material. The research was conducted at a public senior high school in Jakarta during the even semester of the 2025/2026 academic year, involving 36 grade X students as research subjects. The 5E Learning Cycle model, comprising five stages—engagement, exploration, explanation, elaboration, and evaluation—was implemented across six meetings. Students' conceptual understanding was measured using a three-tier test instrument covering seven aspects: interpreting, exemplifying, classifying, summarizing, inferring, comparing, and explaining, then categorized into understanding the concept, partially understanding the concept, misconception, and not understanding the concept. Data were analyzed through triangulation of test results, observations, reflective journals, student worksheets, and interviews. The results showed that students categorized as understanding the concept reached 57.65%, misconception 18.04%, partial understanding 14.31%, and not understanding the concept 10.00%. The highest percentage of concept understanding was found in the exemplifying aspect (69.12%), while the lowest was found in the explaining aspect (50.00%); meanwhile, the highest misconception percentage was found in the comparing aspect (33.82%). These results indicate that most students fall into the concept-understanding category, although the explaining and comparing aspects remain the ones most in need of improvement.
