Abstract
************************************************************ Creative thinking is one of the essential twenty-first-century skills that should be integrated into the learning process, as it enables students to develop innovative solutions to various challenges in the modern era. One instructional approach that has the potential to enhance students' creative thinking skills is the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) model supported by mind mapping. This study aimed to analyze the effect of the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) model assisted by mind mapping on students' creative thinking skills in the topic of climate change. The study employed a quasi-experimental method using a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The research was conducted with tenth-grade senior high school students, involving a total of 62 participants selected through random sampling. Data were collected using a creative thinking skills test based on Torrance's indicators and a learning implementation observation sheet. The data were found to be normally distributed and homogeneous. Descriptive statistical analysis indicated that the creative thinking skills of students in both groups improved after the learning process, with the experimental group achieving a higher posttest mean score than the control group. Hypothesis testing using an Independent Samples t-Test revealed that the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) model assisted by mind mapping had a significant effect on students' creative thinking skills in the topic of climate change. The findings suggest that the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) model assisted by mind mapping can serve as an effective alternative instructional approach for improving students' creative thinking skills in learning about climate change.
