Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kepuasan perjalanan terhadap keterlibatan akademik pada mahasiswa Jabodetabek pengguna KRL Commuter Line. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif non-eksperimental dengan tipe penelitian regresi. Penelitian ini melibatan 246 mahasiswa aktif yang berkuliah di wilayah Jabodetabek dan rutin menggunakan KRL Commuter Line minimal satu kali dalam seminggu yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner yang terdiri atas tiga instrumen utama, yaitu SInAPsi Academic Engagement Scale (SAES), Commuting Satisfaction Scale (CSS), serta instrumen Waktu Tempuh Perjalanan (WTP). Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisis regresi hierarki dengan mengontrol variabel kovariat yang terdiri dari waktu tempuh perjalanan dan jenis kelamin, guna mengetahui pengaruh kepuasan perjalanan terhadap keterlibatan akademik secara lebih akurat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepuasan perjalanan memiliki dampak positif yang signifikan secara statistik tetapi lemah terhadap keterlibatan akademik mahasiswa setelah mengontrol kedua variabel kovariat. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat mendorong mahasiswa mengembangkan strategi adaptasi yang efektif, serta menjadi bahan pertimbangan bagi penyedia transportasi dan perguruan tinggi dalam menghadirkan layanan maupun kebijakan yang lebih mendukung mahasiswa komuter. ***** This study aims to determine the influence of commuting satisfaction on academic engagement among university students in Jabodetabek who use the KRL Commuter Line. This study employed a non-experimental quantitative approach with a regression design. The participants consisted of 246 active university students studying in the Jabodetabek area who regularly used the KRL Commuter Line at least once a week, selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection was conducted using questionnaires consisting of three main instruments: the SInAPsi Academic Engagement Scale (SAES), the Commuting Satisfaction Scale (CSS), and the Travel Time instrument. Hypothesis testing was performed using hierarchical regression analysis, controlling for covariate variables including commuting time and sex, to accurately determine the impact of commuting satisfaction on academic engagement. The results indicated that commuting satisfaction has a statistically significant but weak positive impact on students' academic engagement after controlling for both covariate variables. This study is expected to encourage students to develop effective adaptation strategies, as well as serve as a consideration for transportation providers and higher education institutions in delivering services and policies that better support commuting students.
