Abstract

***** This study aims to describe the form of illocutional speech, the types of implications, and its implications for the learning of anecdotal texts in high school in the show Bercanda Tapi Santai episode “Tunggu Wendi Sukses Ya”. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The data source is in the form of the speeches of the characters in the show Bercanda Tapi Santai episode “Tunggu Wendi Sukses Ya” which is collected using the free listening technique and the recording technique, then analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study showed that 63 paratons, 160 pairs of speeches, 1,090 illocutional speeches, and 1,290 forms of illocutional speech were found. The forms of illocutional speech found included assertive as many as 921 speeches (71.39%), directive as many as 305 speeches (23.64%), expressive as many as 45 speeches (3.49%), and commissive as many as 19 speeches (1.47%), while declarative speech acts were not found. This study also shows that unconventional implications are the only type of implication found, while conventional implications are not found. The dominance of assertive speech and unconventional implications shows that conversations in the show are more used to convey information, humor, satirism, and social criticism indirectly. Therefore, the results of this study can be implied as an alternative teaching module in learning anecdotal texts in high school.
