Abstract

Banjir Bali 2025 menjadi peristiwa yang mendapat perhatian luas media massa karena tidak hanya mengulas dampak bencana, tetapi juga merepresentasikan penyebab, pihak yang bertanggung jawab, dan upaya penanganannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemberitaan terkait bencana banjir Bali 2025 yang dipublikasikan oleh MetroTVNews.com. Melalui pendekatan Analisis Wacana Kritis (AWK) berdasarkan teori Norman Fairclough, penelitian ini mengkaji bagaimana media membangun representasi peristiwa bencana dan mengonstruksi realitas sosial melalui bahasa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah teks yang terdapat dalam berita daring MetroTVNews.com mengenai berita banjir Bali 2025. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dokumentasi, close reading, teknik simak–catat, dan tabel inventarisasi data. Teknik analisis data menggunakan Analisis Wacana Kritis Norman Fairclough dilakukan pada tiga dimensi AWK: representasi teks (mikrostruktural), praktik wacana (mesostruktural), dan praktik sosial budaya (makrostruktural). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada dimensi mikrostruktural, teks berita merepresentasikan banjir Bali 2025 melalui kosakata metaforis dan struktur sintaksis kausal yang mengonstruksi bencana sebagai fenomena multikausal akibat faktor alam dan sosial. Pada dimensi mesostruktural, praktik wacana memperlihatkan produksi teks yang bergantung pada sumber resmi, distribusi cepat melalui portal daring MetroTVNews.com, serta konsumsi yang bersifat edukatif. Pada dimensi makrostruktural, konteks situasional, institusional, dan sosial budaya secara konsisten membentuk wacana yang memposisikan MetroTVNews.com sebagai media responsif terhadap isu lingkungan dan kebencanaan. **** The 2025 Bali Floods received widespread media attention because the coverage not only examined the disaster’s impact but also addressed its causes, those responsible, and response efforts. This study aims to analyze news coverage of the 2025 Bali Floods published by MetroTVNews.com. Using a Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) approach based on Norman Fairclough’s theory, this study examines how the media constructs representations of the disaster and shapes social reality through language. The research method employed is descriptive qualitative. The data for this study consist of texts found in MetroTVNews.com’s online news articles regarding the 2025 Bali Floods. The data collection techniques used in this study were documentation, close reading, note-taking, and data inventory tables. Data analysis using Norman Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analysis was conducted across three dimensions of CDA: textual representation (microstructural), discourse practices (mesostructural), and sociocultural practices (macrostructural). The results of the study show that at the microstructural dimension, the news texts represent the 2025 Bali floods through metaphorical vocabulary and causal syntactic structures that construct the disaster as a multicausal phenomenon resulting from both natural and social factors. At the mesostructural level, discourse practices reveal text production that relies on official sources, rapid distribution via the MetroTVNews.com online portal, and educational consumption. At the macrostructural level, situational, institutional, and sociocultural contexts consistently shape a discourse that positions MetroTVNews.com as a media outlet responsive to environmental and disaster-related issues.
