Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kombinasi posisi politik presiden yaitu pejabat nomor satu di Indonesia dan pidato kenegaraan yang merupakan bentuk komunikasi yang menuntut adanya penuturan kaidah kebahasaan yang baik dan benar. Oleh karena itu, pidato presiden menggambarkan wibawa negara di mata masyarakat serta pihak luar, tetapi pada praktiknya masih mengalami gejala perubahan fonem. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat apa saja perubahan fonem yang terjadi pada pidato formal Presiden Prabowo Subianto dalam menanggapi demo Agustus 2025. Teori yang digunakan penelitian ini yaitu teori linguistik deskriptif dan teori perubahan fonem. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif yang merupakan metode penelitian dalam bentuk kata-kata yang menghasilkan data deskriptif dan menggunakan metode pengumpulan data observasi (pengamatan). Analisis data dalam penelitian kualitatif dilakukan setelah terkumpulnya seluruh data melalui tiga tahap yaitu reduksi data, klasifikasi data, dan display atau penyajian data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari dua video pidato ditemukan perubahan fonem sebanyak 121 data. Berdasarkan akibatnya, perubahan yang paling banyak terjadi adalah akibat adanya koartikulasi dan paling sedikit terjadi adalah akibat adanya distribusi, serta tidak ditemukan perubahan akibat pengaruh bunyi lingkungan. Berdasarkan jenisnya, perubahan yang paling banyak terjadi adalah jenis perubahan fonem dan paling sedikit adalah jenis netralisasi dan anaftiksis. Dari perolehan data menunjukkan juga bahwa teori Abdul Chaer relevan dengan objek data, tetapi ditemukan beberapa variasi perluasan teori berdasarkan yang sudah dikemukakan. Kata kunci: perubahan fonem, pidato, fonologi, jenis, YouTube. ***** This study is motivated by the combination of the president’s political position—as Indonesia’s head of state—and the state address, a form of communication that demands the use of proper and correct linguistic norms. Therefore, the president’s speech reflects the nation’s prestige in the eyes of the public and foreign observers; however, in practice, it still exhibits instances of phonemic changes. This study aims to identify the phonemic changes that occurred in President Prabowo Subianto’s formal speech in response to the August 2025 protests. The theories used in this study are descriptive linguistics and the theory of phonemic change. The method used is a descriptive qualitative method, which is a research method that relies on verbal descriptions to generate descriptive data and employs observational data collection. Data analysis in qualitative research is conducted after all data has been collected through three stages: data reduction, data classification, and data display. The results of the study show that 121 phonemic changes were identified in the two speech videos. Based on their causes, the most common changes were due to coarticulation, while the least common were due to distribution; no changes were found to be caused by environmental sounds. By type, the most common changes were phonemic changes, while neutralization and anaphasis were the least common. The data also indicate that Abdul Chaer’s theory is relevant to the data set, but some variations in the theory’s application were identified based on the findings presented.
